-Sarah, School@Home Parent

“I am so happy I found Varsity Tutors. I have a child that has dyslexia and ADD and not many places have the tools to help her. Varsity has classes from reading to math.”

-Iman, School@Home Parent

“Both [of our children] have ADHD and were in elementary school when we started. Couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with our kids.”

Put your trust in the best educators.

Matching your student with the right educators starts with having only the best educators to choose from. We do this by setting a high bar—vetting every applicant through tutoring simulations, academic and personal background checks, and interviews.

Questions? We have answers.

Why did Varsity Tutors create School@Home?

Over the last 10 years, the number of homeschooling families has doubled. Homeschooling is becoming a more popular choice for families looking for alternatives to conventional schooling. While the benefits of homeschooling have made it more popular, it hasn't gotten much easier for parents to homeschool.

At Varsity Tutors School@Home, we strive to make homeschooling easier and more possible for more families. We are your partners in homeschooling. Whether you’re comfortable doing it all yourself or you want to provide your children with a more personalized learning experience without doing all the teaching yourself, we’ve got something for you.

We’re a good fit for families who want their kids to learn and grow at their own pace; for families whose kids may feel more comfortable in a smaller and more engaging, positive environment; and for families whose current or previous schools have struggled to understand their children and support them.

As a leader in personalized online education with 40,000 carefully vetted tutors and educators, we can help families "do school better." We hope you’ll join us!

How much does it cost?

School@Home is as flexible as your needs require. Pay as you go, month by month. Upgrade or downgrade your plan whenever your needs change. And you can cancel at any time.

How do I get started?

If you’re ready to enroll or have further questions, call an academic counselor at 1-800-915-4957. To hold your spot in our program, we require that you make a deposit equal to the cost of the first month of the program you select. This deposit is fully refundable. You can call the same number to make the deposit.

How much work do I need to do as a parent?

Whether you need a little bit of help or a lot, we offer three approaches customizable to everyone’s needs.

Our Digital Homeschool Aide package is for parents who want to do most of the heavy lifting themselves. These parents receive homeschooling tools that help streamline their educational process, access to the School@Home curriculum, as well as a VT+ membership.

Our Homeschool Assistance package takes one or even a few subjects off parents’ hands. We pair your student with a highly-vetted homeschool educator so they can be taught a variety of core and elective subjects.

And our All-In Homeschool Instruction does everything for you from personalized math, ELA, writing, and science placement and instruction to highly engaging hands-on learning experiences.

Does this cover an entire school year or just one semester/two quarters?

You choose. We’ll work with you to ensure you get the right level of help for your family’s needs.

How does accreditation work?

Both packages come with an accreditation consultant who can work with you to ensure your student satisfies all homeschooling requirements specific to where you live.

School@Home is not an accredited school.

How do you know what is best for my student?

First, our consultants speak with each family, really getting to know your student(s). Second, when your student completes our adaptive assessments, we can identify their needs, strengths, and weaknesses. From there, we use our smart matching algorithms to identify the best educators and classes for their specific needs. It’s a lot of science and a little bit magic.

Who are the educators?

All online tutors and educators go through our rigorous vetting process, and only a tiny fraction who apply are ultimately chosen. Why are we so selective of our educators? Facilitating outstanding instruction is at the forefront of our work, and this requires incredible educators.
