The student started with his most recent homework which covered the concepts of broad sense heritability, narrow sense heritability, as well as aspects of population genetics and the chi square analysis. We then went over his old exams in order to prepare for the upcoming final. We were able to cover prokaryotic and eukaryotic replication, transcription, and translation. We also covered some basic characteristics of DNA and nucleotides. We briefly touched on the lac operon and gene expression towards the end.

Tutoring review by Michael in Tulsa, OK
Today was spent looking over an SAT practice test, during which I highlighted the differences between it and the ACT, with which the student is more familiar. He also spoke about his experience taking the ACT last weekend. On the math section, we practiced, on a few problems, the plug-in method, which we done before in our ACT studies, but is probably more useful on the SAT than on the ACT. On reading, we practiced strategically reading along with the questions, keeping the minimum amount necessary stored to memory at any given time. We finished by looking at some error-identifying questions on the writing section, covering various strategies, including the checking of all pronouns (making sure they match up with subjects appropriately).
