We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

AP French Tutoring FAQ

Taking AP French can help you develop college-ready language abilities and demonstrate these skills to the schools to which you apply, but it can also help you reduce the number of language classes you need to take to earn a college degree. Success on the AP French exam can help you earn college credit for introductory French courses before you even set foot on campus.

However, like many AP courses, AP French progresses through a great deal of material at a very quick pace, sometimes causing quite a bit of difficulty even for students who find learning different languages relatively easy. If you are having a bit of trouble keeping up with your AP French class and want some assistance in learning helpful studying strategies, personal AP French tutoring can help. An additional benefit is that you can receive the guidance of a tutor who has already succeeded on the exam.

At the start of today's session, the student took a quiz that focused on last session's material. She completed a good 75% of the quiz without the use of her notes. Afterward, we went over question tags, and how to turn statements into questions using Mandarin phrases. Because of the amount of material, this was all we were able to cover. Next week she will have another quiz covering today's session material.

During this lesson, I taught the student sports (basketball, soccer, football, baseball.....etc.), fruits (apple, pears, peach, watermelons, mangoes....etc.) and numbers 11-50. He is very good with Pinyin. I can show him any Pinyin and he can pronounce almost everything correctly. Out of the three categories that I taught him, he learned numbers the fastest. It was very impressive. Some of the things that he should work on is the pronunciation for some of the "fruit words." Overall, he did very well!!!

The student only had two words he needed to learn for Monday's dictation test, and he learned them really quickly and we did a few practice dictation tests. He did very well. While completing his workbook pages, he did not need any assistance in recalling vocabulary words.

The student had started learning Mandarin on her own using an app I'd suggested. She recognized characters from her "Chinese menu" app lesson, but she had not learned how to say the words, so we went over the character pronunciations for beef, noodle, rice, fried, chicken, and egg. I then showed her another set of lessons which prepares for the Chinese proficiency exam. I had her memorize the characters and pronunciations for girl, child, good/well, and small. We reviewed some colors, and added the word for ball into her vocabulary.

Today we mostly reviewed the colors and animals vocabulary from last week and added a few more animals. We started talking about some simple actions such as "fly, walk, crawl, jump, run" through describing animals' features. To practice these vocabulary, we had a TPR game in which we took turns asking others to do the actions by speaking and listening. I introduced the sentence structure "I can ...". I gave them a checklist sheet to remind them what we had learned from last week to this week.

Today, the student and I worked on the Chinese New Year song. We spent our time defining terms and making flashcards for his upcoming exam. He needs to study these before his exam. It would also behoove him to spend time working on writing and memorizing characters.
