How much will it cost to meet with a private tutor in St. Paul?

The cost of sessions with a St. Paul tutor vary based on many factors. Varsity Tutors will connect you with a certified private teacher in St. Paul who has proven knowledge in their subject.

We'll find you or your student a tutor in any of more than 3,000 subjects, from elementary science to graduate-level physics. The price you'll pay will be affected by the level of the subject, the frequency of your meetings, and your location. For example, regularly scheduled sessions with a graduate macroeconomics tutor for your courses at a college like St. Thomas may cost more than periodic review sessions for your middle schooler before exams. Tutoring is often less expensive than you might think. In addition to 1-on-1 private tutoring, many instructors offer group sessions as well.

Enlisting the help of a tutor along with a group of your classmates is a great way to split the cost while still receiving valuable additional support from an expert. We also offer live online courses that are a cost-effective enhancement to every student's tutoring plan. Working with a private tutor, engaging in group sessions, or enrolling in an online course are three great ways to get the attention you need from an instructor, and research indicates that tutoring is worth the cost. If you'd like a more detailed quote on the plan that suits you best, get in touch with our Educational Directors by phone or online. One-on-one tutoring situations are generally the first thing that most people think of when they consider tutoring. While private tutoring offers students more opportunities for individualized assistance and lesson plan personalization, there are many tutors who offer additional options.

Tutoring review by Rudy in St. Louis, MO
The student has an exam in geometry tomorrow, so we went over the review sheet given by his teacher. It is a summary of the info that we have gone over the past week - area/perimeter of various shapes, relating shapes via ratios, and some review of past concepts like complimentary/supplementary angles. Overall, the student did very well. He seems to be getting the information really fast, and was able to answer several of the questions on his own. It appears that he will be ready for his test.

Tutoring review by Michael in St. Louis, MO
Today I helped the student with his homework which covered special right triangles. All I had to do was suggest writing his steps down. The next homework assignment was over finding the area of various kinds of triangles. He needed no help with this either, other than me telling him to show his work. After that, I helped him with radical expressions. He had some trouble with these but after going over his assignment and some problems I created for him, he was more proficient with this subject. I spent the remainder of the session reviewing him on his previous homework to prepare him for his final next week. I feel that the student will do very well on his final. He had progressed greatly since our first session.
