CLEP Principles of Marketing Tutoring FAQ
The CLEP (College Level Examination Program) test for principles of marketing is available for high school students to take in lieu of an introductory-level college course such as basic marketing, fundamentals of marketing, or other similar titles. If you pass your CLEP exam, you don't have to take the class, saving you money and time, while still earning the credit for it. Varsity Tutors can help you find CLEP Principles of Marketing tutoring, which may help you earn that college credit.
There are four main sections to the exam, as listed, and your CLEP Principles of Marketing tutor can help you study for all of them.
Marketing mix - product and service management, pricing policies, distribution logistics, and more (40-50% of the exam)
Target marketing - consumer behavior, positioning, segmentation, and more (22-27% of the exam)
Role of marketing in a firm - marketing content, environment, strategy, research, and more (17-24% of the exam)
Role of marketing in society - ethics, international marketing, nonprofit marketing, and more (8-13% of the exam)

Recent CLEP Principles of Marketing Tutoring Session Notes
Worked on another 25 math questions. The student once again did great today: his focus was sharp, his mistakes were minimal, and his attitude was positive. Overall, I feel that he's made more progress than any of my prior students, so I'm optimistic about his scores on the real test.
After mutual introductions, the student was able to identify the procedure used to maximize results on the ACT by practicing on the reading section: adhering to strict time limits for reading the passage (pacing not too fast to lose comprehension but not too slow as to lose the time needed to read and answer the questions). He demonstrated this on two separate parts of the reading section, showing a 33% improvement section-over-section from practicing this technique. This develops his innate sense of timing so that he spends just the right amount of time to maximize his points on these sections. With practice, this will become ideal and will yield him the maximum results. Our future sessions will focus on how this is similar and how this is different as an approach to the other sections of the ACT. We will also make sure to supplement subject-matter knowledge to bridge any critical gaps along the way. I look forward to working with him to get him to the score his 3.8 GPA deserves!
The students took an abbreviated version of the SAT, using sections 2, 4-7, and 9-10 of Practice Test 8, in order to fit our test into the 3 hours we had allotted.
At the end, we discussed the need to bring a digital watch to the exam to keep track of time without much effort and to continue to take practice tests independently to establish a focus and concentration throughout the full duration of the test, as its length and speed are a large part of its challenge.
Worked with the student on a mid-term exam of English, Math, and Reading. He performed at a pace of 25 with English. On math, he projected to get a 28. Thus we can work on some more advanced concepts.
We began with reading, but covered primarily mathematics. He needs to study vocabulary and read his summer books to help with the reading and writing. He also needs to find time to take practice tests so they can be reviewed. We need to schedule our next session as well.
