Tutoring review by Eunki in Hightstown, NJ
The student had a quiz today shortly before he and I met for our session. He felt great about the hard work he had put in and about the confidence in his ability to do well. We discussed how change can be slow and to continue working toward his goals as he has shown that he can do well in his class. He just needs enough practice, patience, and persistence. He showed a resilient spirit as he asked for help in areas he still had trouble in, specifically adding/subtracting rational fractions. Because of his exam tomorrow, he felt he needed to review this given that he felt he had performed poorly on this topic. We also went over word problems involving rational equations and how to interpret them as this is perhaps the most difficult part of the problem. As we concluded our session, the student appeared very committed to practicing homework and classroom problems again to reinforce previous lessons to improve his confidence as well as his performance on his coming exam.

Tutoring review by Richard in Hightstown, NJ
During our session, I helped the student answer questions on her homework as well as helped her with simplifying square roots. The topics we covered were functional notation, the quadratic formula, simplifying square roots, and completing the square. She seems to be struggling with completing the square. I gave her two practice problems dealing with completing the square and another practice problem that mimics an area problem that was on her homework.
