Tutoring review by George in River Forest, IL
The student and I reviewed a homework assignment in preparation for her quiz the next class. We covered indefinite integrals by both part and U-substitution. The student was very good at performing the integration; she only needed clarification on how to best use the strategies. We were able to complete the assignment review and spent the remaining time on practice problems for her quiz.

Tutoring review by David in River Forest, IL
Today, the student had a review packet for his upcoming final which covered all of the material covered in his class and consisted of systems of equations, conic sections and parametric equations, and vectors. We were able to get through the problems smoothly, and he caught on to the material after I demonstrated how to do them. I also advised him to continue to practice more problems on his own so that he could be efficient and do well on his final. He knew how to do the work once I show him a few problems on each concept he's learned so far.

Tutoring review by Lana in River Forest, IL
Today the student and I went over normal distribution, standard normal, and central limit theorem. We talked about how to calculate z-scores and find probabilities using the standard normal table. He seemed comfortable with the calculations and the tables and also with interpreting word problems. He struggled the most with CLT but only because the problem we were looking at was set up in a confusing way. Once we figured that out, he seemed much more confident about it.

We worked on transformation of polynomials. The student finished his homework that is due this week and next. We practiced transformations extensively, corroborating our work by using a graphing calculator. We also reviewed changing an equation in vertex form to standard and factored forms, and from factored to standard and then to vertex form. He wanted to practice going to vertex form more, which we reviewed more in depth.
