The main topic we covered this session was finding asymptotes for, and the drawing of, hyperbolas. The way that worked the best for the student was the transformation from the parent graph of f(x)= 1/x .  We also looked backwards in the unit to make sure she was ready for the upcoming quiz on Thursday.

Tutoring review by Elyse in Elmhurst, IL
We discussed the student's goals for the test. We then did some English passages. He does not seem to have any specific error patterns, but we discussed common issues like commas, run-on sentences, and semicolons. We also did a few math problems and a couple of science passages. It appears that his main issue is minor errors. We will work on slowing down and reading/responding to the questions carefully. He will try to complete 2-3 English passages, some science, and maybe reading if he has the chance.
