The student and I checked over the homework that she did. She did really well on the Math section and then we did another Math section. She definitely has a strong grasp of basic math concepts which allows her to figure out most problems. She also does well on sentence completion and short passages but struggles on longer passages.

Today I split the session in half between student 1 and student 2.  Student 1 and I got through a few more of his lessons for his Chinese class. We will probably start adding more sessions in the next few weeks so we can finish his coursework in time for summer. Student 2 began a new unit in her language lesson.  The vocabulary in this section has to do with days of the week and age.  She is picking up the concepts quickly, and with some review, I'm sure she will have the new words more or less learned by next week.

During this tutoring session, the student and I continued to work on mathematics and the verbal section of his SSAT exam, which he will be taking Saturday, December 8th. In this session, we focused on percent, decimal, and fraction conversions as well as introduced algebra with respect to finding percentages of numbers. In this session we also discussed basic analogy techniques, and he created a plan of attack for analogy problems. I continue to be impressed by him, especially in his mathematical abilities.
