Tutoring review by Ramsey in Hickory Hills, IL
I had the student do an assessment exam so that I can properly diagnose his strengths and weaknesses. He seems to have trouble with core concepts of geometry, so my hope is that after reviewing his answers we can tackle a game plan for the rest of the semester.

Tutoring review by Corbin in Hickory Hills, IL
For this session, the student and I began with catching up on her missed quizzes. She mentioned that she missed the last two weeks of school and that she wanted to take the majority of her quizzes the next day. From the information she had, she mentioned that she needed help with her vocabulary words pertaining to polygons as well as learning her proofs dealing with proving polygons, angles and line segments parallel and equal to each other. We first practiced on her vocabulary words and then studied her proofs for tomorrow's quizzes. Based on the information she presented, she seemed to know the material better that she thought she did. At the end of the session, she seemed to grasp the information a little better.

Today, the student and I reviewed for her upcoming test covering parabolas, hyperbolas, and ellipses. This section will take a lot of memorization. We reviewed the specific topics and equations, and we went over many problems. I quizzed her on some questions, once we had gone through multiple problems, and she seemed more confident. She will contact me this week to let me know if she wants a session next weekend or not.

Tutoring review by Donnell in Hickory Hills, IL
Concepts covered during the session included: multiple-step addition and subtraction word problems, and addition and subtraction 4-digit column problems. The student had an excellent attitude toward all material for the duration of our session. Strategies discussed included reading the word problems multiple times and focusing on what specifically the problem is asking for. The beneficial takeaways from this session are that the student shows great potential in full mastery over the material with practice and focus. The student exhibits enthusiasm when interactive study materials are involved (i.e., marker board that I brought to the session). I will implement various interactive study materials/methods in future sessions.
