The City of Lake St. Louis of Missouri was a planned community designated to be placed between two lakes. It was originally planned for in 1961 to be a private resort community, as was popular in the 60s. The idea transformed into a community when R. T. Crow noticed the closeness of the lakes, major highways, and proximity to St. Louis. They began developing a true town, which was bolstered by financial support from several investors, who Crow eventually bought out.

The community is served by the Wentzville R-IV School District. The top public school is Thomas Jefferson School in Sunset Hills. It is ranked #1 in the metro area by Niche. The rank is based on the culture, SAT and ACT scores, and graduation rates displayed on a consistent basis. While originally anyone who lived in the city and had property were part of the LSLCA, this changed as the community grew. There are many activities and classes offered around the community. The student was very confident with his last test. I went over the lesson he missed in class, Integrals as a Net Change, due to a band activity. After going over the lesson, I helped him with questions he had for the homework.

We went over what the student's teacher covered last week. We chatted about what he likes to do and I would bring up new terms, repeat a few times and try to design a situation when he would use the terms for practice.

Tutoring review by Daniel in Lake St. Louis, MO
From my impressions, the session went well. From what I have been told, the test that the student took on the 19th focused on 4 sections: 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4. The student emphasized that she wanted more practice on 3.1 and 3.2. So, we went over 3.1, and I found that 3.1 was very well understood. The concepts were, overall, easy to remember. Section 3.2 needed a bit of work, though. Solid ground was made and covered, but I know and understand that the mode of thinking in logarithms is not immediately intuitive. I'd recommend practicing and reinforcing the switch between logarithmic thinking and exponential thinking. A logarithmic equation is analogous to another exponential equation, but they relate different variables.
