Tutoring review by Aasiya in Ballwin, MO
Started with Section 5 of the practice test in the book: quantitative reasoning; went over the missed questions and discovered skills that needed to be addressed/remembered before continuing. We went over permutations and combinations and began reviewing with standard deviations and other kinds of data analysis; we did practice problems and reviewed answers.

I started this session with the student by going over homework with him.  His homework involved matching vocabulary words to their Spanish definitions and matching responses to questions.  I used these assignments to not only work on his vocabulary, but also his translation abilities.  The student showed excellent progress in his handle on the chapter's vocabulary, as well as an increased ability to reason through the definitions of words in Spanish.  We ended the session by practicing his expressate phrases for the current chapter.  Again, he showed an increased level of comfort with using the phrases as the session went on.

For the first hour of the session, the student and I looked over one of his previous tests which covered statistics topics. Those topics included normal distribution curves, the 68 95 99.7 rule, determining whether a set of data is skewed to the right or left, standard deviation, and z-scores  For the second hour, we looked over worksheets containing topics that will be covered in his test on Friday. Those topics included probability, histograms, and finding the mean and standard deviation using a given set of data.

Tutoring review by James in Ballwin, MO
The student' class has finally slowed down in pace a little bit. They have been covering some topics in multi-variable calculus for the past few lectures. He has developed a good grasp of partial derivatives. We reviewed the applications of partial derivatives to local extrema, lagrangians, and total differentials. We focused mainly on the processes, because it would not have made sense to invest a large amount of time on deeper theory. From our survey of applications of partial derivatives, we moved on to covering multiple integrals. Again, because of his good understanding of partial derivatives and his prior knowledge of single variable integration, we were able to make good progress through different multiple integral problems.

Tutoring review by Breahna in Ballwin, MO
The student and I spent most of her time working on genetics and meiosis, to prepare her for her upcoming exam. We reviewed the key concepts and vocabulary, then went through several sample problems. She felt good about the material. We went through more linear equation material to prepare her for her upcoming exam. She has really improved in grasping this material and should perform well on her upcoming exam.

Tonight the student and I continued review for his math test. We completed a review sheet which covered addition, subtraction, and multiplication of polynomials. The worksheet also covered exponents and simplifying expressions with exponents. We also worked on word problems involving polynomials as well. We finished the session by correcting a quiz that the student had taken on these topics.
