Tutoring review by Fese in Vernon Hills, IL
I helped him study for his midterm on Friday. He understand most of the problems, but we had to review how to set up and simplify logarithmic equations together. We also reviewed information about angles, solving terminal side word problems, and finding the correct trigonometric identities. He seemed to pick up on the review well but will need to continue to review the material in order to memorize all of the steps. He completed some practice problems on his own and was able to get the correct answers. Overall it was a good session.

The student brought in his latest draft of his interpretive essay on "Snow" along with ideas of how he already wanted to rewrite it. He has been internalizing the lessons well and brought up past sessions, making connections in editing his current paper. We also did small units on transition words, active and passive phrasing, and editing for concise sentences.

The student needed help with her algebra to prepare for a quiz. We reviewed concepts on order of operations, using absolute value, and working with variables. Then she also had physics she wanted help with, so I reviewed her lab handout to make sure she addressed all parts of the questions. I reviewed the concepts of precision and accuracy, as well as the difference between random error and standard error.

Tutoring review by Sarah in Vernon Hills, IL
The student started the lesson by showing me her vocabulary test (107%!). We then worked on her math homework- adding and subtracting negative and positive numbers. She had finished most of the vocabulary homework prior to the lesson, so I checked it and we reviewed the couple of answers she had gotten incorrect. We finished with history, writing notes for first half of a chapter about the ancient Egyptians

Tutoring review by Meagan in Vernon Hills, IL
The student had quite a bit of work this week because he had missed a couple days of school due to snow. He came in immediately and began to work. He made a comment about the amount, but not a single complaint. We worked on informal proofs of similarity. He does very well if missing one piece of information, but struggles a bit with multi step problems. He worked hard and improved.
