Tutoring review by Sirish in Santa Fe, TX
We went over polar coordinates and parametric form. Specifically we converted from Cartesian coordinates to polar coordinates, and vice versa. She understood mostly everything from that chapter, and any questions she did have I believe I cleared up. I also covered 3D vectors, and how to solve for whether two vectors are skewed, parallel, or intersecting. We went over the cross product and how to determine that based upon two vectors. She understood this concept very well, and we only did one example.

I made up practice problems to get the student ready for her algebra refresher test. The only area she had trouble with was simplification of radicals. We will continue to work on that in future.

I covered algebraic geometry and concepts such as sin, cos, tan. The student was struggling with previous algebraic concepts, so we are going to focus on those for awhile. Her attitude was very good. I included study strategies such as taking organized notes and writing down examples.

Tutoring review by Jennifer in Santa Fe, TX
The student and I worked through three SAT reading passages and approximately 25 SAT grammar questions. He expertly applied process of elimination to the reading comprehension questions and was able to re-evaluate answer choices when he "backed himself into a corner" in order to reach correct answers independently. We discussed ways to understand the author's argument and point of view. On the grammar section, we talked about sentence placement in paragraphs, comma placement, unclear antecedents, and verb tenses. This was our final session before the SAT on Saturday.

Today, Student 1 and I continued to work forward in his pre-algebra book. I introduced adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers, and after some practice, I gave him some problems to complete for next week. Student 2 and I continued reviewing for her upcoming finals. She was struggling with when to multiply and when to divide, but she understood and solved problems very quickly after some explanation.
