Tutoring review by Michael in Alvin, TX
The student is currently working on calculating areas and perimeters, both of standard shapes and not-so-standard ones. She does very well with them, especially with her use of the concept of dividing a shape into parts and calculating the areas separately. We worked on using ratios to calculate these measurements (for problems where a circle, for instance, is divided into sectors).

Today we worked on a few Venn diagrams and began with geometry. We focused on circles, lines, and graphs. We also worked on some clock angle problems. The student struggled a bit with clock angle problems but quickly came up to speed. Next week we will start to dive into 3 dimensional geometry problems where he says he has no experience.

Tutoring review by Robert in Alvin, TX
We reviewed finding critical points and determining extrema and intervals over which functions increase and decrease. Then we went over finding inflection points and determining concavity. We mostly worked through problems, and there was some explanation on what extrema and inflection points look like graphically and how they can be used to approach word problems. The student is very comfortable with finding critical points and determining extrema, and confident in determining inflection points.

Tutoring review by Michael in Alvin, TX
The student and I met to review the topics covered in her class the previous week, for which she wasn't present. We primarily dealt with identifying factors, using either definition, synthetic or long division. Overall, she is able to work through the problems easily, and with more practice I have no doubt she will not be behind at all whatsoever.

Tutoring review by Varna in Alvin, TX
We decided that it would be best to do 2 sessions a week every week until the student's next exam to see if the tutoring works and helps her raise her scores substantially. I'd like to see her get a 100 on her next test. So that was and is the main goal. I will have her retake her first test on Saturday so we can determine if she understands the material better now that the test is over. After deciding that this was the plan, we went over some of the material from her new chapters and topics. Hopefully, we can succeed in our pursuit.

Tutoring review by Amber in Alvin, TX
We worked on converting percents to decimals and decimals to percents, as well as fraction to decimals and percents. The student really seems to be understanding the concepts and just needed a few reminders and some tips about how to convert the decimal to the percent and fraction. However, once she started getting it she was able to do it on her own.
