We went through the student's summary review, and I discussed the solutions he had problems with or needed more study time on. The student should review this closely tomorrow night in preparation for his test final on Wednesday. The student was able to complete many of the problems from the review on his own with few mistakes. Good luck.

Tutoring review by Matthew in Middletown, DE
We spent the session working on percentages. Most of the time was spent working on the formula for calculating taxes and seeing how it can be applied to a variety of problems, including things like simple interest and how to find costs either before or after taxes given the appropriate information. We also discussed certain features of percentages, like how in many problems you add or subtract 1 to the percentage in question in order to factor in or remove the original value and the difference between being told that something is "30% more" than a value compared to "30% of" a value. All in all, the student seemed to make major gains in both being able to use the given tax formula, why the tax formula is what it is, and understanding how to work with percentages in a broader sense.

Tutoring review by Hannah in Middletown, DE
In today's session, we pretty much completed our review of the student's second exam. This mainly consisted of properties and variations of integration. She does really well when we go through each individual step of a problem, so we will keep using this method to solve problems. She really just needs to get her exam sheet completed and she needs to be familiar with the material on it, so it will be useful come finals day. We are going to finish one last problem from this exam, then get to the more recent material in our next session. We have three more before the exam, so I am hoping we will get through the majority of the material by then.
