Then we looked at problems that have the math traps and discussed how to avoid the trap and solve the problem. They had great attitudes about learning about the traps. I gave them more problems to practice on at home this week.

Today we covered: a position/velocity/acceleration question and clarified the relationship between the three (and common pitfalls people make), the Intermediate Value Theorem and when and how it can be used, a bunch of derivatives (which the student is great at), and finally a repeated-differentiation question. I think he's very prepared for his test.
