Tutoring review by Aaron in Wapato, WA
We reviewed some problems and concepts for her test tomorrow and her final next week. Topics included projectiles, inclines, conservation of energy and momentum, work, etc. She is feeling good about the work-energy material for her test tomorrow. I think she will do very well. We can meet again next week to go over material for the final, which seems to include some things that have not been covered in her class.

Tutoring review by Julia in Wapato, WA
The student listened to and read aloud from chapters in the K12 Social Studies textbook for Semester 2, corresponding to Unit 8 The Great Depression. He finished Lessons 1 - 4, scoring 100% on all quizzes. Lesson 1 Young Franklin taught about a young man who would become President and turn things around -- Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The student listened intently to the chapter and recalled that Roosevelt had everything he could want as a child, and was taught to be a compassionate gentleman. The student scored 100% on the Lesson 1 quiz. Lesson 2 A Woman of Courage described the life of FDR's wife, Eleanor. She had an unhappy childhood, yet grew up to be a caring, smart, capable woman who served as her husband's adviser since he was in a wheelchair. Lesson 3 Polio and Politics presented the transition that occurred in FDR when he contracted polio. He was already a well-known political figure, but not very "serious." That changed when he became ill, making him more focused and "presidential." Lesson 4 A Powerful President told of FDR's reforms. The student enjoyed learning about FDR and thought the New Deal ideas were brilliant. Several subsequent lessons engaged writing an essay about any of the people learned about in Unit 1. He is in the process of researching and taking notes for the essay. He scored 100% on the Unit assessment of 10 questions, showing excellent recall and understanding.

Tutoring review by Justin in Wapato, WA
Today we covered the topics of equilibrium, ideal gas laws and acid-base reactions. We also briefly discussed topics regarding thermochemistry and electrochemistry. Specifically we went over the student's entire review packet for her chemistry final. She struggled with organizing all of the various topics we covered, and sometimes mixes up what is going on conceptually with some of the questions. Although she struggled a little bit, she ultimately understood the topics we covered and is able to explain the topics reasonably. I told her specifically that for chemistry, to always check her work and think whether or not the answer makes sense. Also, having good calculator skills will also be very important when taking her exam.

Tutoring review by Addison in Wapato, WA
The student is really making progress on the material. I'm really excited. She was really on target, not only in terms of what we're doing in the homework sets, but also why we do things that way. The questions she's asking are probing and on point, portraying a solid sense of what we're doing with each of the types of statements we work with. It's a joy to watch her learn.
