I am a graduate of Western Washington University, with a degree in education and a mathematics major. I have been a teacher for over twenty years, mostly as a substitute. I have also had contracts teaching math at the middle and high school levels. I also tutored for many years at a large well-known tutoring center. I am especially interested in teaching math at all levels up through trigonometry, as I find it so interesting and intriguing to find the solution to problems, and I understand how important it is in all kinds of fields. I am also comfortable with other subjects at the elementary and middle school levels. Now that I live in a rural farm community, I've tried relearning and improving my Spanish, and feel comfortable enough with it to tutor the basics. I believe that anyone can learn anything if they want to, and I try to encourage my students to build on what they already know to delve deeper into a topic and learn more. When I'm not teaching, I like to read, and I am an especial fan of "The Wizard of Oz" books and other classic children's books. I am also a fan of the British TV series "Doctor Who", and have met other fans (including my wife) at conventions.
