We will link you with a private tutor for students in Franklin who can assist your student at Franklin High School with anything ranging from ACT test prep to extracurricular math. A personal teacher can work with you at a pace you are comfortable with. As you will be learning with them 1-on-1, without any other students present, you will be able to ask as many questions as you want. For example, if your student at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School is behind in class, they can present their questions to their private instructor, who can explain the answers using various tactics until your student is ready to move on to the next topic. Learning with a personal instructor can help your student feel more confident about their studies. Being that they will be meeting them face-to-face on our online platform, it can give them a chance to improve their communication skills.

How much does Varsity Tutors cost for students in Franklin?

The amount you can expect to be charged for tutoring for students in Franklin will depend on various factors specific to your situation. Those factors may include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the subjects you will be reviewing and the amount of help you need.

As an example, if you are thinking of getting weekly sessions throughout your term at Dean College for LSAT test prep sessions, the amount you will pay for each lesson might be less than the per-session rate for someone getting a few session of final exam review. It is a good idea to discuss your needs with one of our Educational Directors for a more accurate quote.

Tutoring review by Philip in Franklin, MA
We covered a few questions the student had on determining areas between intersecting functions. Then we moved on to determining formulas for cross sectional areas (circles, squares and triangles) given the profile function (circle) for the edge of the cross section. He seemed to grasp this concept quickly and we correctly completed several exercises from his text book. We ended up setting up the integrals for volumes of revolution based on circular cross sections of solids given their profile function.

Tutoring review by Talia in Franklin, MA
The student has a math final next week and was given some review packets to work through over the next week. She had already worked through most of the packets, but wanted help answering some questions, as well as some corrections. The student needed help on a probability question and a geometry equation, but for the most part, she answered the other questions of this type correctly on her packet. We went through the whole review packet to make sure she understands all concepts that are covered on her final. We did practice problems from each subtopic and she needed the most help with scientific notation and Pythagorean Theorem problems. Once it seemed that the student understood how to answer these questions, she wanted to move on to working on her science review packet. We started with a review of photosynthesis vocabulary and processes, and included a review of plant biology and tropism. She still had her textbook available to use as a reference so that we could make sure we were not leaving any ideas out of her review. Her closest exam is on Monday and that is her Spanish final, so she wanted to review her practice exam questions. We focused heavily on conjugations since she has continually had a lot of problems getting this to stick. I've noticed that the student struggles with vocabulary, but specifically, she rarely remembers the meanings of common verbs. I had the student make a chart of useful verbs, their definitions, as well as conjugations of mainly stem changing verbs. She is expected to know these for her test, so I instructed her to practice writing out the conjugations over and over to get them properly memorized for the final.

Tutoring review by Megan in Franklin, MA
We worked through an online test that covered trigonometric functions, their identities, sinusoidal graphs and their transformations, and using the unit circle. We worked quickly, leaving some topics to be explained in more detail at the following session.

Tutoring review by Benjamin in Franklin, MA
Today we covered such topics as domain, limits of a function, and level curves as applied to three or four dimensional spaces. The student had good intuition for how to approach most of the problems we looked at, we spent the most time going over the intricacies of limits when approaching a point in R2 for the input. He felt confident he understood all the required concepts to finish his homework on his own.

Tutoring review by Jennifer in Franklin, MA
We went over linear programming and worked on word problems to identify optimal solutions/profits, etc. The student was comfortable with rearranging inequalities to solve for y in order to graph the functions. We went over how to determine if a solution set is bounded, unbounded, infeasible, or if there are alternate optimal solutions. We'll discuss more about alternate optimal solutions during our next session, and I asked her to review matrices, especially multiplication, before she takes the unit test.

Tutoring review by Kelie in Franklin, MA
In algebra we talked about the quadratic formula, which was time consuming, but not difficult for the student. He must have figured out completing the square on his own, because he got all of his homework questions correct. His next test should be coming up soon, so he should work more on the practice problems I assigned him. I gave him all of my solutions for the chapter 9 problems so that he could check his work. In science we reviewed naming compounds and balancing chemical equations. He had forgotten both of those things, so it started a little rocky, but got better very quickly as we did more practice problems. He should practice balancing equations a little more before his test tomorrow.
