Tutoring review by Alonso in Lynn, MA
First meeting with the student. We discussed his progress in the course and his level of understanding and where he might be having problems. It seems that he understands what is going on with general regressions but he finds the transformation part of it more challenging. Also the application of a regression to a problem was challenging. We meet again Saturday to finish his review sheet. He's very close to where he wants to be.

The student was studying for a quiz on Chapter 10. We worked on solving inequalities and graphing them on a number line. We also reviewed how to graph the line and shade the inequalities in the xy coordinate plane. We also discussed absolute value. We worked on questions from his textbook and sample assessment questions related to the topic.

Tutoring review by Kenneth in Lynn, MA
We focused on his world history study sheet of more than 60 questions. As his teacher does not allow him to take his books home, he has to find the answers on his own. I suggested that he refer to his class notes. We worked through the Russian/Soviet Union portion of the worksheet. He found some answers in his notes, some he remembered from class and others he derived from our discussion of Russian history. My final recommendation was that he obtain a globe to aid his understanding of topics covered in his world history class.

Tutoring review by Christine in Lynn, MA
This session went fairly well! I was working with about 5 girls so the group wasn't too large. I spent the session discussing strategies and studying tips, which lasted the entire session. Essentially finished talking about the ACT this first session. Unless the girls have any questions after looking over the exam, I will move forward to the ACT. They seemed to understand the advantages of taking one test versus another and seemed relatively comfortable with the types of questions found on the exam.

Tutoring review by Jenny in Lynn, MA
The student chose to read the assigned book and he already read 7 chapters before our session because he was so eager. We used a graphic organizer to summarize the important parts of each chapter. We also did vocabulary maps to make more sense of words he wasn't as familiar with. We are working on going deeper in the text to get his thoughts on it.
