Tutoring review by Lindsay in Addison, TX
She is a sharp student who catches on quickly and ask constructive questions. In the first session we covered basic graphing of logarithmic functions, rules for rewriting and solving basic logarithmic functions. Went through her take home test material and plan to finish the assignment in the following session. In the next session I would like to review and take notes on the principles we are discussing and try problems outside her assignments to ensure she is comprehending the information.

Tutoring review by Ellen in Addison, TX
Today we covered the midpoint formula, the distance formula, direct variation and coefficients of variation. I gave the student a formula sheet to look over and memorize for his test because there were a lot of long and complicated equations we learned today. He seemed to be able to memorize them quite well as we went along during the session. We also built off of the slope formula we went through in a previous session and used it to find the point slope form for equations.

Tutoring review by Kendra in Addison, TX
Today we finished up a section on the quadratic formula, solving equations with and without radicals in the answer. The student did really well; she has definitely mastered using the equation and setting up her answers. We then moved on to the post test in the back of her book which covers all the material. She needed a bit of reminding on how to start a few of the problems, but overall did a great job. We will finish up the review in our next few sessions now that she is going back to school, and then we can keep working on topics as her class gets to them.

The student and I reviewed for her algebra quiz and worked on her upcoming social studies project. She continues to do well in algebra, but has lost points on quizzes for simple mistakes. I am encouraging her to check her work, since I think her biggest hang-up as a student is hastiness.

We went over matrix problems for the student's upcoming test in high school. We went over taking the inverse of a 2x2 matrix using algebra and did practice matrix multiplication properties. We also looked up commutative and associative properties for adding and multiplying matrices.
