Hungarian Tutoring FAQ
Learning Hungarian can be difficult, especially if you speak English as your native language. This is because of the many ways the Hungarian language differs linguistically from English. Furthermore, finding instruction in Hungarian that addresses your particular struggles with learning the language can present an additional challenge. Formal class-based instruction may not spend enough time on the topics that confuse you or it may proceed at a pace that doesn't match that at which you learn. Study groups might not be able to diagnose the aspects of Hungarian on which you most need to focus, textbooks are impersonal, and online forums are unreliable. Varsity Tutors can help you connect with private Hungarian tutoring that allows you to learn the language under the direct guidance of an experienced and knowledgeable tutor.
When you contact Varsity Tutors about Hungarian tutoring, our educational directors help you to set up your student profile to help you select the tutor who is best suited to addressing your particular learning situation. Your profile conveys a great deal of information to potential tutors around the world. They factor in your previous Hungarian instruction, your strengths, weaknesses, language concerns, course syllabus, and even your preferred learning style when selecting the tutor who is the best fit for you. The educational directors take their time to ensure that you are matched with a great tutor who has a deep knowledge of the language, culture, and many other aspects. Your tutor can then take these same factors into account to develop a customized learning plan to follow during each tutoring session.
Your personal tutoring plan can be adjusted on the fly, so you are free to spend as much time on each concept as it takes you to master it. If you need to brush up on your speaking skills, vocabulary, writing, or other areas of Hungarian, your personal tutor can patiently take the time to make it easier for you. Your Hungarian language tutor can act as a conversational partner to help you develop your speaking skills and can also provide you with exercises to improve your writing and reading skills. This customized approach allows you to gain a comprehensive mastery of the language. If you need to focus on one aspect over another; for example, if you only need to speak the language for business but do not need to master Hungarian literacy, your sessions can be adapted to suit these specific needs.
Your instructor can work with you using language learning strategies to improve your fluency. You may be given hand-selected materials, such as Hungarian music, television shows, websites, news reports, art, and other aspects of the culture. You might be asked to delve deeply into the language through total immersion, where you eat, sleep, think, and breathe in Hungarian.
Each tutoring session progresses your pace. If you need to go back to a previous concept or work with something longer, your tutor is happy to focus their attention on it until you successfully master it. You are free to choose what you want each session to be about. You can request fewer or more sessions in a given week, such as before you leave for your business trip or prior to the final exam. When you have a hectic schedule, your Hungarian language tutor can help you find the ideal tutoring times for you! Arrange it all around work, family, extracurricular activities, and anything else you may be responsible for to ensure that your studies don't suffer. You can request in-person tutoring or face-to-face online tutoring sessions using our live learning platform.
No matter what your current level of experience or your goals in learning Hungarian, one-on-one tutoring can help you learn the language efficiently and effectively. Contact the educational directors in your area for more information or to start working with an experienced Hungarian instructor!

Recent Hungarian Tutoring Session Notes
In this class, we reviewed the terms of animals and fruits, and I taught Student 1 & 2 to count from one to a hundred, and Student 3 from one to thirty. Then we went over family terms and they learned how to respond the questions like how many people are there in your family, and who.
Today's session went well. We were waiting for the student's teacher to post his homework online. We worked on vocabulary words. He's improved a lot since we started this school semester.
We listened to some children's song about cardinal directions and reviewed other words about location. We looked at a map of China and talked about the place names that use cardinal directions in the name. We read a poem about cardinal directions and we completed a review of the lesson on location by having the student draw a picture that I dictated to her in Chinese.
The student had a few different homework sheets to complete. He also had to learn a new lesson on weather. I helped him study some weather-related vocabulary.
Instead of new sentence structures, I taught the student how to say the five sense organs in Chinese. We instructed each other in Chinese to draw the five sense organs in specific colors. After the drawings had been created, we used sentences like "He is a boy, she is a girl; his name is Bentan, her name is Jade." He learnt these a few lessons ago and he was able to use them to describe his own figure.
The student worked really hard today. He completed his homework for Monday and some of his homework for next week. He practiced for his dictation test. We were able to have brief conversations in Chinese without me helping him, which is great! His "c" sound in pinyin was great, and all I needed to say was "say that again" and he would correct himself. He has also started to correctly pronounce tones.
