If you have your eyes set on attending medical school, Varsity Tutors offers a Boulder MCAT course that can help you prepare for the exam. The MCAT is a standardized, multiple-choice, computer-based test that has a reputation for being one of the most challenging entrance exams with its 7½ -hour duration; thus, you'll want to prepare for this grueling exam as thoroughly as possible.
Most medical schools in the United States and Canada list the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) as part of their admission requirements. Admissions committees, including those at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, combine the MCAT score together with other documents such as transcripts, recommendation letters, and interviews when selecting future medical students. Some schools may weigh the MCAT score very heavily, while others may set a minimum cut-off for the test score.
The MCAT has four integrated test sections, which mean subjects or areas of concentration overlap-just like how students will encounter them in medical school. In general, this test assesses your understanding of concepts that are crucial for success as a medical student. With a Boulder MCAT class, you can familiarize yourself with the content and layout of the test so that you can perform at your best during exam day.

The questions are 9 passage-based sets of questions (5-7 questions per passage) and these focus on verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, and analytical skills. This section tests you on your general knowledge about a variety of disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities and will also test your English skills.
Some of the key concepts that you will tackle in your MCAT review for this section include how to integrate different components of the text to increase comprehension; applying or extrapolating ideas from the passage to new contexts; and how to infer meaning from compositional elements.

How does a Boulder MCAT course help me prepare?
An MCAT course provided by Varsity Tutors can help you prepare better for the exam with the guidance of educated and highly qualified academic mentors. You can ask questions and get immediate and specific answers that can help you make sense of concepts you don't understand in the exam content. In addition to the key concepts you will review in class, you can also pick-up test-taking strategies that can make you more efficient in answering questions throughout the 7½-hour long test.
MCAT classes provided by Varsity Tutors are also geared towards making the review as convenient as possible for students. The class is conducted online, where you have live, interactive lessons with your instructor and other students preparing for the test. Working on MCAT concepts and problems together with a group is also beneficial, as collaborative lessons have been shown to help students retain information longer and help them have a deeper understanding of the material.
Though you will be studying with other students, you can still request a 1-on-1 session with your instructor if there are concepts or problems that you would like extra help in learning. This personalized and customized attention can be very effective in addressing your core difficulties faster compared to just studying on your own. With the help of a qualified academic instructor and a thorough review, you can better prepare and reach for your target MCAT score.
How can I find a Boulder MCAT prep course?
Since the MCAT is a long and challenging standardized test, you will only want to take this test once and prepare for it properly. Your performance on the test can have an effect on your dreams of entering medical school, so think of your prep course as an investment in your future.
