Tutoring review by Art in SeaTac, WA
The student and I began working on his review topics for his upcoming final. He has received a packet that explains every single topic that he will be responsible for and also details the what type of questions he can expect to see as well as how many total and of what type. We were able to work through the first page and a half of this review with little problems. The topics that we covered were solving systems of equations and inequalities, adding and subtracting polynomials and exponents, and factoring of polynomials. Since these are review problems, the student wasn't surprised by anything, and after I guided him through one or two problems, he had fully recalled how to do them. The student knows where he is strong and what needs more work, and we will probably continue to do some factoring practice next time. I also instructed him to begin thinking about the things that he needs on his note card. His instructor has allowed a note card to be brought to the final, and so the next session we will work on that together. The student seems to be in good spirits after today's session as he was able to recall the information.

Tutoring review by Matthew in SeaTac, WA
The student worked through several reading passages and science sections. She performed very well on science once she was able to familiarize herself with the way the section works -- she was pretty consistently getting 6 out of 7 questions correct, which would correspond to a score of around 30. She also seems to be doing better at reading.

Tutoring review by Aaron in SeaTac, WA
We made good progress on solidifying the concepts of polynomial functions, and we expanded our coverage to include inequalities and rational functions. We had lots of discussion about how functions, inequalities, and their zeros are related to both graphs and the number line. We are going to do lots of practice problems on Thursday to solidify our methods, but this session was very promising!
