Tutoring review by Martin in Owasso, OK
The student has a quiz on Monday. We covered trigonometric identities in this session (Pythagorean, co-function, double angle, etc.), focusing on simplifying expressions to show equality with another expression. We discussed multiple strategies for simplification (including a new method) and went over some common simple math mistakes that were cropping up. She is very capable of understanding and applying new methods and materials. Sometimes she makes simple mistakes that get her stuck on a problem, but as long as she remembers to check her work along the way, she can handle problems readily.

Tutoring review by Audrey in Owasso, OK
We discussed corresponding, interior and exterior angle theorems and perpendicular angle theorems. We also discussed the relationship of parallel lines and angles. The student seemed very comfortable with the concept. She did not require too much explaining and answered almost all the questions on her homework correctly without too much prompting from me. We also went over proofs. I will be bringing a proof for her to practice at every additional session in the future to ensure she is practicing proofs continuously as that is her biggest struggle.

Tutoring review by Hope in Owasso, OK
During this session we covered converting percents into fractions, percents into decimals, fractions into decimals and fractions into percents. When changing percents into decimals we utilized zeros to as "place holders" to count how many times we would need to move the decimal over. For example: .06%= .0006 (moving decimal to the left twice). When converting fractions into percents we utilized the cross multiply and divide method (3/4=x/100. 3*100= 300/4= 75%). The student had a workbook that had multiple problems that could be utilized for practice and I let her know she was free to call me with any questions. I tried to encourage her by letting her know that math is like anything else--you need practice to get better.
