Today, the student and I covered composite functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions. Her teacher had introduced most of these concepts in class but she still had some questions about the content. I explained each concept and gave her many practice problems. She had many "ah ha!" moments today as she began to fully understand the material. We even covered future topics she will learn tomorrow that will be on her test next Wednesday. We will have another session next Tuesday for a final review before her test.

She thought she did a good job of knowing when to skip questions and how to manage her time. She wrote an essay that was fun and engaging, she felt. We also worked this evening on preparing for her semester tests that she will have tomorrow at school.

Today the student and I looked at non-fiction passages since he had trouble with these yesterday. He seems to have difficulty determining the meaning of words in context. I encouraged him to look at the context and not answer what he knows or thinks the word means in general. We then moved on to some of the fraction topics he is still having trouble with. I will go over this all again tomorrow during our last session before the exam.
