Tutoring review by Thomas in Gifford Park, NE
The student and I went over Business Calculus, chapters 11 and 12, in preparation for his final exam. He is continuing to do so much better in working the step-by-step process that is necessary to get the questions correct. He is being held accountable to his studying and getting his work done, and he is doing well. I think his progress in this class has been outstanding. He is in great position to get a B in this course, and we will meet on Monday and maybe Wednesday so we can get him prepared to do well on his final.

Today the student and I did lots of practice with discontinuities involving trigonometric functions. He should really learn more about trigonometric functions and the unit circle. I am hopeful that the work he and I did will help him in the future.

Tutoring review by Yiyu in Gifford Park, NE
We introduced ourselves to each other, and I got to know the student's background, current level, and learning goals. She already has a great command of many Chinese words, and she has been immersed in a Chinese speaking environment, which is great. She shows strong interests in learning with competitive games, which is really helpful for me to know. She is still slightly reluctant to speak Chinese because she is just picking it up again after several years. I can see that she is a confident, competent, and smart young girl who can soon overcome fear and get back on track! For future sessions, I will research for games, videos, and curriculum covering the basics to keep her engaged, but not overwhelmed. It was a great session!

We covered a bit of angle congruency and worked on problems where we had to figure out certain angle measurements. We also used these concepts to write a few proofs. The student did well with all of the material.

Tutoring review by Farah in Gifford Park, NE
The student and I started with grammar, which was reviewing classifying sentences and then proper uses of a/an. We went through that fairly quickly, and then moved on to spelling, where we went over rules. We also finished up cursive K/k. We worked on breaking word problems into parts/whole and then read her story and worked on coloring a King Tut mask for history.
