Tutoring review by Peter in Elkhorn, NE
We worked for two hours on graphing functions, especially fractions with polynomials. We also worked on inverse functions and composites of multiple functions. We also talked about even and odd functions, one-to-one functions, and the horizontal and vertical line tests. We also graphed functions finding the range and domain, the asymptotes, and holes on the graph. We also learned how to determine points on a graph where the function was increasing and decreasing.

Tutoring review by Michael in Elkhorn, NE
Today we covered graphing polar coordinates and reviewed for a test that the student has on Monday. Overall, she is doing well with this topic. We worked through the notes and homework she had and addressed issues as we went. At the end, I spent a few minutes verbally quizzing her on the content. She has 2 days of review in class to solidify everything.

Tutoring review by Ehiwe in Elkhorn, NE
We worked on a review packet and did problems on inequalities and laws of exponents among other topics. The student seemed to understand everything we did after going through a few examples and practice questions. She had not yet learned the Pythagorean theorem formula yet, so I helped her learn and utilize that as well.

Tutoring review by Alissa in Elkhorn, NE
The student had class today, and she learned about graphing multiple inequalities and solving a system of inequalities through graphing. This material came easily to her, as has most of the chapter on inequalities. We went over an absolute-value word problem that she completed with ease. In going through her homework this session, most of the problems about inequalities or absolute values were simple for her. We started reviewing fraction properties and will continue with these fundamental algebra skills next session as well as incorporating other review material.

Tutoring review by Elizabeth in Elkhorn, NE
Today we briefly went over strategies for the reading passages. The student wants to work primarily on math, which is her most challenging section. She hasn't had time to work on sections on her own, and without previous scores it's still tough for me to estimate her starting level in the critical reading and writing sections. Based on her work in the math section, I estimate her starting around 400-500 with potential to get closer to the 600 range. She doesn't have a lot of math confidence and has trouble starting problems, but she knows how to solve at least half of the problems if I get her started. We spent most of the lesson today on math, and we finished the content review for the blue book. We will start going though the more thorough review next time.
