I consider myself to have two lives. For the 18 years of my adult life I worked at various positions at a major oil company assisting lawyers, geologists, and engineers. I decided to complete my bachelor's degree and become an educator. I have a bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Science, master's degrees in School Administration and School Counseling from Lamar University. I have the following certifications: Special Education, ESL, Generalist (Grades 4-8), Principal, and School Counselor. I have training in assessing for dyslexia and providing skills training for the identified students. I have worked with struggling learners in both the special education and general education population. I have worked with other educators to develop appropriate educational plans for individual students. I believe that all students can learn but that each student needs to be reached in the way that is appropriate for him/her.

I have recently completed my master degree in Chemical Engineering. I have over 4 years of tutoring experiences with broad range of subject in Math and Science for high school and college students. I always want to help students to overcome their weak area and also assist them to discover their own potentials or strong expertise. I have few industrial experiences during my internships, and I would love to share with my students about college life, especially chemical engineering experiences in school and in industry.

I have my B.S. in Exercise Science & Fitness Management and my M.S. in Human Performance. I have 15+ plus years in the Health, Wellness and Physical Rehabilitation profession. I have successfully tutored, mentored and trained over 50+ personal trainers and wellness coaches in the areas of certification prep, working with clients with physical limitations and business marketing development to help them acquire more clients.Overall, I LOVE the health and wellness profession as I am now at a stage in my career and life where it brings me absolute joy to share my knowledge, expertise and passion with others in the profession that are new, fairly new and eager to work in this awesome profession.Due to that passion and just with my perspective on life, I have high energy at times. So don't be surprised if I start to cheer or say "whooohoooo" or "let's goooo" when you get a correct answer or master a certain concept. I love to celebrate people's "wins".One of my favorite quotes is "The greatest wealth is health" by Virgil (A Roman Poet)

I have completed my B.S. in Biology at Lamar University, MS in Medical Science at UNTHSC GSBS, and am currently applying to medical school. I've scribed in multiple settings in the medical field such as oncology, hematology, and orthopedics. I enjoy teaching others because it helps them realize their potential and not just know science, but to enjoy learning it. I have the ability to teach a variety of sciences such as Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, and more. I believe studying is a skill and that one may improve their aptitude so long as they keep working at it, and that is where a great tutor can help.
My passion for education began in college while tutoring K8 math. For the past 10 years, I've worked in Special Education and now serve as an Educational Diagnostician. I'm dedicated to understanding learning struggles, identifying the root of a student's disconnect, and building the foundational skills that guide them toward their next milestone.
I am a lifelong learner with a diverse academic background, holding four nursing degrees (LVN, RN A.D., BSN, MSNEd), a BA in Psychology, and a BA in History. I passed both the NCLEXPN and NCLEXRN in 76 questions. My clinical strengths include psychiatric/mental health, endocrine, cardiology, immunology, pharmacology, and medical/ surgical nursing. I have spent much of my career in mental health and have volunteered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Kidney.fund and UNOS (United Network of Organ Sharing), where I inform the world about Organ Donation. I recognize that the NCLEX is a challenging exam, but I believe that structured collaboration makes success achievable. Together, we will review your test scores, create a clear outline, and engage in focused discussions. From there, we will build a personalized plan and schedule that defines your progress step-by-step. My goal is to guide you with clarity, consistency, and support as you move toward passing the NCLEX.
I graduated with a 4.0 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, with a Bachelor's of Arts in English. While pursuing my degree, I logged over 600 hours in the public school classroom working mostly with middle school and high school students, although I did have some experience working with elementary school students. I have taught in whole class, small group, and individual settings, and I anticipate receiving my Texas teacher certification by the end of January 2014. I believe all students can learn and achieve through practice and hard work, regardless of the subject area and individual strengths and weaknesses. I love reading for recreation, but I am extremely passionate about writing; I believe that this passion transfers well to my students. I am comfortable tutoring any English related subject, beyond Reading Comprehension and Writing. My other hobbies include listening to music and shopping both of which attracted me to the Austin area. I believe that learning lasts a lifetime, and as a part of my journey to become a lifelong learner, I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
With experience teaching English Language Arts, I am committed to helping students become confident and effective communicators. My teaching philosophy is rooted in patience, encouragement, and the belief that every learner has a unique voice worth developing. I strive to create engaging and personalized learning experiences that meet students' individual needs while building strong writing and critical thinking skills. That's what makes me passionate about tutoring!
I am a lover of life, learning, and love. I strive to increase the capacity to learn as well as the enjoyment of learning. I continue to strive to increase my knowledge and wisdom to share with those around me.
