I am a graduate of Harvard. I received my Bachelor of Arts inEngineering Sciences - Applied Mechanics. I also have an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University. I started teaching in 1999 as a Physics/Teacher in Boston. Afterwards, I taught as an Electronics/Mathematics Teacher in Texas for about 7 years. It was in Texas that I started tutoring individuals in certain math subjects. I then taught in the Atlanta area for about 5 years. I taught Algebra 2 & Geometry at the Benjamin Banneker High School for a year and then worked 4 years at the Sunflower Learning Academy with students age ranged from K 12 in a range of Science & Math subjects. I taught Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, SAT Math. I also taught Math for K 8th grade. From my experience at the Sunflower Learning Academy, I just started tutoring all ages in the Math & Sciences.The most important element for any child's self esteem is identity. We live in a society that embraces all cultures. Every child should be appreciated for who they are and what they can contribute to the American Melting pot. Consequently, I believe that every child has the ability & the right to learn. Once a student is comfortable with who and what he or she is destined to be then it is easier for them to appreciate and not be intimidated by other students. Each student has a unique contribution to make in this global society today.In my spare time when I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, exercising, jump roping, playing chess, soccer, and running.While I tutor a broad range of subjects which encompass Math, Physical Sciences & Engineering Sciences I am most passionate about are the high school math subjects : Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Probability & Statistics.These Math topics exercise and challenge the critical thinking and analytical skills of students which are needed for them to function as responsible students in a global society.

I am a current student at Boston University studying Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy. I have an extensive history tutoring coding, math, writing, Chinese, and piano. My most recent big trip was to the Caribbean, but I also travel within the Northeast a fair amount; I just got back from a week in New Hampshire and Boston. Before the Caribbean, I spent three weeks in London as part of a short study abroad program focused on theater.

I have always a passion for curiosity. The buzzword "lifelong learner" has been around the education world for quite some time. But I want to have a lifelong curiosity. I always want to know things work and how to better understand things. I bring that same passion for curiosity to everything that I do, especially teaching and tutoring. Nothing brings me greater joy than being able to bring someone closer to their capability. My biggest teaching motto has been: "I don't teach based on what I know my students can already. I teach based on where I know they are capable of going and what they are capable of doing." I believe that people should always strive to know more. Curiosity makes the world a better and, frankly, a more fun place. If I can instill that lifelong curiosity into even one of my students, I would have reached success.I also firmly believe that conversation is a huge part of a successful teaching/learning process. No one knows how the students learn better than the students themselves. I constantly check in with how students are doing, often before I tell them how I think they are doing. This constantly dialogue allows us to form a better connection and does nothing but allow me to teach and the student learn better. I want to know their goals, interests, hobbies, learning styles, and anything and everything in between. This process is not a dictatorship but a partnership.I look forward to getting know my students and helping them on their educational journey!!!!

I am a graduate of UC Berkeley where I majored in Molecular and Cell Biology, with an emphasis in Biochemistry. I am currently a graduate student at the Boston University School of Medicine, studying Biomedical Forensic Sciences. I am a 2021 graduate of the University of Connecticut. My degree is in mechanical engineering with a biology minor. This fall, I will be attending Boston University to obtain my Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. I have experience tutoring students in mathematics, science, and standardized tests.

I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds as a tutor. I have various tutoring experiences from tutoring college level athletes in Chemistry and Kinesiology, to teaching and tutoring Medical Terminology to high school students. My true passion for education and working with students one-on-one developed when I was serving as an Education Volunteer in the Peace Corps and had the opportunity to teach and tutor math, French and health sciences to elementary, middle and high school students.
