After I came to the States, I helped my friends' children to learn Mandarin during the summer of 2012. They were two 7 and 9 year-old brothers, both American Born Chinese. Their parents wanted them to speak Mandarin. After that summer, the boys can communicate in Mandarin. I enjoyed my tutoring with these children. It makes me feel fulfilling and I find myself can be very patient and effective with my students in language learning. Also my students seems to have a lot of fun in learning, because I used some fun ways instead of just teaching textbook.Languages are complicated subjects.
