Hi! I'm a recent Yale grad tutoring in English language, literature, and public speaking for middle school and high school. I'm also available to tutor in Spanish and Russian languages. I also completed the IB program in high school so I am happy to advise on the EE, CAS, IA, and exam process for that.

I am part of Varsity Tutors because it provides me a platform to convey my knowledge and passion for all the subjects that I tutor to younger students. I am committed to providing an educational, productive, and comfortable experience for all students using these services. I consider it my responsibility to offer additional insight and appreciation for all that math and physics have to offer, along with the merits and importance of a strong secondary education!
There's nothing quite like that moment when a student's face lights up with understanding. Whether it's finally grasping a challenging calculus concept, conquering chemistry equations, or crafting the perfect college essay, I've had the privilege of witnessing countless "aha!" moments throughout my tutoring journey. What drives me as an educator is understanding that learning isn't one-size-fits-all. Every student has unique strengths and learning styles. My role isn't just to teach content - it's to discover how each student learns best and build their confidence alongside their knowledge. Many students come to me feeling overwhelmed, but I help them see that math and science aren't mysterious - they're puzzles waiting to be solved. I provide comprehensive tutoring across all levels of high school mathematics - from foundational algebra through advanced calculus and statistics. In the sciences, I work with students in biology, chemistry, and physics, connecting classroom concepts to real-world applications that make learning engaging and memorable. For college preparation, I offer SAT and ACT test prep that focuses on both content mastery and strategic test-taking skills. I also provide essay editing and writing support throughout the college application process, helping students craft compelling narratives that authentically showcase their personality and aspirations. What sets my tutoring apart is my genuine investment in each student's success. I don't just help with homework - I help students develop critical thinking skills, study strategies, and the confidence to tackle new challenges independently. I maintain regular communication with parents and always hold high expectations because I know students are capable of meeting them. Ready to unlock your potential? Let's work together to achieve your academic goals - one concept, one problem, and one success at a time. When I'm not tutoring, you'll find me experimenting in the kitchen, creating my own recipes and perfecting everything from weeknight dinners to elaborate desserts. There's something incredibly satisfying about the precision of baking that mirrors the logical thinking I love about math and science. I'm also passionate about staying active - whether I'm out on a morning run, hitting the hiking trails, or sweating it out in group fitness classes at the gym. I'm actually looking forward to diving into CrossFit next, always up for a new challenge!

I am currently a PhD candidate completing my doctorate at Yale University in the Medieval Studies department and has previously obtained masters degrees in English Literature and Medieval Studies from Yale, The University of Georgia, and the University of Glasgow. An Atlanta native, I returned from New Haven to live and work in Georgia while I finish the final stages of his dissertation. Over the course of my studies, I have taught undergraduate literature and history as an instructor at Yale, the University of Georgia, Oxford University, the University of Glasgow, the University of Connecticut, and Wesleyan College (Macon, Georgia). At the same time, I have worked as a teacher and tutor for the LSAT, GMAT, and GRE for over thirteen years. I am one of two authors of the all-new revision of Barrons GMAT guide and Barrons Passkey to the GMAT, and have previously written content for Kaplan, Parliament Tutors, and Success Prep. Because of my lengthy experience, I am intimately familiar with the methods and principles used by the major test preparation companies and have developed a variety of methods of his own. I take a different approach from the major national test prep companies in that I recognize that each student is different and that no single method is best for all test-takers. Come test day, the most successful students will be those who have found ways to combine their own native strengths with an additional complement of of time-tested techniques learned through rigorous study. I enjoy helping my students find the approach that will allow them to meet confidently their future educational goals. I live in midtown Atlanta, near Emory, with my brother and a sulky, spoiled hound dog.
I'm a journalist and former teacher with experience teaching and tutoring middle and high school students. I earned a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a master's in teaching from the University of Chicago. I especially love working with students on their writing, from school assignments to college essays. It's exciting to see students go from feeling blocked to writing freely and learning to revise and polish their work.
I love learning about my students' hobbies and interests, and strive to connect these with the material I tutor them on.
I'm a junior at Yale University pursuing a double major in Linguistics and Theater. I have experience tutoring in a variety of subjects, but I'm particularly excited to help students with writing, critical reading, and SAT or ACT preparation. I had a strong support network of teachers and mentors throughout middle and high school, so I understand firsthand the importance of thoughtful, individualized educational enrichment. I seek to meet each student where they are in order to help them reach their greatest potential! When I'm not tutoring, you might find me performing improv comedy, playing saxophone, or trying to write the next great American musical.

As someone who has experienced the dynamics of both the undergraduate and medical school admissions process, I feel that strong preparation for entrance examinations greatly increases one's chances of personal and academic success---which is why I am so very interested in working with you through Varsity Tutors!I currently have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in African Studies from Yale University. I deferred admission to gain relevant work experience before starting medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine as an MD/MPH candidate student. My experience in the biological sciences includes extensive biology research in the fields of behavioral neuroscience and infectious disease. I successfully completed all required courses for admission into medical school during the course of my undergraduate education, and I have extensive Math, Science, and Verbal Reasoning tutoring experience working with high school students in the New Haven Public School system. While working in local public high schools, I have successfully tutored students both for their own personal gain and for increased performance on college entrance examinations--such as the SAT and ACT.My personal strengths include the ability to work productively in a fast-paced work environment, along with numerous experiences in tutoring, lesson/report preparation, and data analysis. I'm a sophomore at Yale University working towards a major in Ethics, Politics, and Economics. I have experience tutoring both in person and online, with agencies and independently. I tutor standardized tests, English reading and writing, Spanish, and Latin, as well as my favorite subject to teach: math. I love teaching math because seemingly complicated problems can always be broken down into simpler steps, and it is rewarding to help students understand concepts that seem daunting to them at first. While tutoring math, it is very clear that each and every student has potential, and some use need guidance to discover what they are capable of. The best way to help someone learn is to show them how to take and active role in the learning process. Apart from tutoring, I also love painting in both oil and watercolor, playing rugby, and skiing.
