I have worked with youth for the past six years, and one thing I have found to be consistently true is that no two kids are the same. As a tutor it is really important to not think that just because one method works for one kid that it will automatically work with another. It is my job to make whatever the student is struggling with personal or stated in a way that makes it click. I went to the University of Central Florida and majored in Sociology focusing on youth. I started out volunteering with an organization called Youth for Christ and discovered that working with youth is what brings me the most joy. When an opportunity to volunteer teaching students who had been in trouble with the law came up I jumped on it.
