How can a Mandarin Chinese tutor help you?

Increasingly, Mandarin Chinese is becoming a popular language that students all over the world enjoy studying. Given the large number of individuals who speak Mandarin as their native tongue, it is a useful language to learn for those who expect to be in contact with others who also speak Mandarin. However, the language has a reputation amongst language students for being one of the tougher ones to learn. If you're in a Mandarin class or studying the language on your own, you might want to consider working with a private tutor to help get the most out of your study sessions. Luckily, the Varsity Tutors' educational directors may identify a private Mandarin Chinese tutor in Pittsburgh, PA, who may address all of your Mandarin Chinese concerns.

When you work with a tutor, you could gain access to the specialized knowledge that has made them experts in the Mandarin language. That may be helpful to you for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, your tutor may know how to design targeted lesson plans that are made specifically to cover your weakest areas. You'll also be able to ask any questions you do have right as they come up instead of waiting for your teacher to reach a good stopping point. An expert Mandarin Chinese tutor in Pittsburgh may develop a study plan to try to help you make the most of your ability to succeed in your course and outside of it by giving you the tools you may use long after your tutoring sessions end.

Mandarin Chinese Tutoring review by Kathleen in Pittsburgh, PA
The student wrote a letter in Chinese and we talked about word order within sentences as well as stroke order and spacing when writing characters. She has a strong grasp on the material, so we will be using tutoring time to work on details (pronunciation, writing characters more smoothly) as well as more global aspects of the language (conversation, writing/speaking longer sentences, study habits). Methods for independently learning new characters were discussed.

Mandarin Chinese Tutoring review by Wan Wen (Jovana) in Pittsburgh, PA
I and the student were practicing a dialogue in Mandarin, in which she'll be doing a skit in class next day. I helped her with the pronunciation and had her followed me reading the dialogue multiple times so that she can get it better. She showed improvement in the dialogue by the end of the session.

Mandarin Chinese Tutoring review by Xi in Pittsburgh, PA
Today we mostly covered lesson four. We went through the textbook first to make sure she understands the vocabulary, phrases, and important sentence structures for this week. We then went through her homework (around 6 sessions) together, correcting mistakes and learning new vocab along the way. We also listened to Peking Opera and talked about it. The student remembered most new vocab from last week and seems more comfortable speaking up.

We worked on a script that the student and her group members wrote based on the Chinese fairytale that they have been studying in Mandarin class. I helped her with the meaning, pronunciation and intonation of the dialogues in preparation for her short drama show on this coming Monday.
