Tutoring review by Max in McKees Rocks, PA
Having recently completed her semester exam, we decided to work ahead into the next unit by starting to discuss ratios and how they relate to symmetrical polygons. Initially, the student was skeptical about the greater significance of this subject, but introducing real-world examples of sale prices and scale production seemed to help her warm to the material. She appeared fairly confident with our basic concepts at the end of the session, and was clearly excited to be working ahead.

Tutoring review by Robert in McKees Rocks, PA
In this session, the student and I discussed her homework for this week, one she said her teacher mentioned was particularly important. The theme was advertising. We discussed several images, conversations, and short readings. I left the longer writing sections for her to do on her own. She has a great level of comprehension when we talk about abstract concepts in French. When she writes, she always begins by restating the question. She is ready to do her own thing! I think she's a bit worried about how she will come across-- it's more about fixing small errors (like gender or subject verb agreement) and having a sense of confidence. In other words, she is better than she thinks she is.
