What content will a Louisville GMAT class review?

The GMAT has four sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. The exam is 3.5 hours long. The exam questions are presented in essay and multiple choice format. The exam is filled with lots of content, so taking a Louisville GMAT class could be a great decision. Let's go over the sections.

First, we have the Quantitative Reasoning section. This section must be completed within sixty-two minutes. This section contains thirty-one multiple choice questions. The question types include problem-solving and data sufficiency. With the problem-solving questions, you figure out the answer and choose the best response from five choices. On the data sufficiency questions, you are given a question and two statements. Given your reasoning, math, and general knowledge skills, you decide if there is enough data to solve a problem and select your answer. These questions will show schools how you perform in areas such as graphical data interpretation, mathematical reasoning, and quantitative problem-solving.

Second is the Verbal Reasoning section. This section contains thirty-six multiple choice questions. These questions must be answered within sixty-five minutes. Verbal Reasoning assesses your critical reasoning, reading comprehension, and sentence correction abilities. The critical reasoning section provides a passage, and the questions focus on your ability to interpret an argument while forming a plan of action. In the reading comprehension section, you will again answer questions based on a passage. You will have to show that you understand the words, ideas, and logical relationships presented in the passages, along with drawing inferences and following quantitative concept developments. Lastly, for sentence correction, you will answer questions about sentence structure as well as identify proper grammar. You will also have to identify the best solution for a sentence to express it clearly.

The third section is Integrated Reasoning. Question types on this portion of the test include multi-source reasoning, table analysis, graphic interpretation, and two-part analysis. Multi-source reasoning questions involve using data from graphics, tables, text, and other sources to analyze and answer questions. The table analysis questions have you analyze and sort data in a table to identify the relevant information that meets the desired condition. The graphic analysis questions have you make inferences and identify relationships amongst data in graphs and other charts. Lastly, the two-part analysis questions will have you handle challenges like evaluating trade-offs, solving several simultaneous equations, and identifying relationships between two entities from more complex problems.

The last section is Analytical Writing. This section is computer based. A computer system analyzes your essay for structural and linguistic features, while human evaluators access the quality and organization of your essay. Your command of written English and using relevant examples in your work are important factors. You will have thirty minutes to write your essay.
