What Does a Charlotte GMAT Class Cover?
The GMAT is a 3.5-hour test. There is a lot to cover leading up to the exam and our classes provide the overview you need. The exam comprises four sections: An Analytical Writing Assessment, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Integrated Reasoning. There are many concepts and skills to focus on so you can perform your best and make the impression that you want to. To get started, here is an overview of what you can expect on the GMAT.
The Analytical Writing Assessment, or essay portion of the test, is an evaluation of the quality of your writing and ability to express your thoughts and ideas. Your response is based on an argument that you'll need to analyze. After examining its reasoning, you'll have to take a position on the argument and use your own reasons and examples to support your answer, which will demonstrate your command of written English. Your response must be planned and written in 30 minutes.
There are also many multiple-choice questions on the GMAT. The Quantitative Reasoning section gives you 62 minutes to answer 31 questions that require problem-solving that uses your analytical and logical reasoning skills. The data sufficiency component requires an analysis of a problem and identification of relevant data to answer it while applying your general knowledge, reasoning skills, and mathematical abilities.
The Verbal Reasoning section, at 65 minutes long, includes 36 questions that cover reading comprehension, sentence correction, and critical reasoning. Short reading passages are provided and require you to evaluate arguments or use the data to create or assess an action plan. Here, you'll need to apply basic language skills.
However, the Integrated Reasoning section is much more analytical. It involves finding data from various sources, including tables, graphics, and text, and evaluating sets of information based on the details provided. This section requires a degree of problem-solving as well, and it must be completed within 30 minutes. It comprises 12 analytical questions.
What Methods Does a Charlotte GMAT Course Use to Help Me Prepare?
Each course that Varsity Tutors can connect you with provides a collaborative environment to learn. You can interact with your instructor and peers, which can ease the learning process. This eliminates the guesswork of studying alone. It also provides the opportunity to receive encouragement through a variety of activities and discussions. Students tend to find the live virtual platform highly intuitive. Plus, you can hear, see, and interact with everyone who is signed in, just as if they were in the room with you.
As your instructor covers various aspects of the exam, they can expose you to the format, including how questions are presented. The practice available can help you see the most efficient ways to read the information. A Charlotte GMAT class may include practice exercises in which you learn test-taking skills such as using the details in a question to eliminate wrong answers to narrow down your choices. Other strategies may also be taught to help improve your pacing and confidence.
If your instructor doesn't cover a topic of concern or you don't fully understand something, they can set aside time to work with you one-on-one. Such an option is useful if, for example, you grasp problem-solving and sentence structure, but are concerned about your ability to draft an essay in just a half an hour. Your mentor can work with you to speed up your ideation and writing process. Varsity Tutors' Charlotte GMAT course is therefore very flexible, right down to the choices you have when signing up. Select from two- or four-week courses, which start on a weekly basis to accommodate a variety of scheduling needs.
The flexibility of GMAT courses means you can find the help you need in preparing for this crucial part of the business school application process.
