How can a History tutor help you?

For some people, learning and understanding history comes naturally. Other students struggle with it, however. There are numerous dates to remember; significant events to record; and complex theories and ideas to propose, debate, and defend. History includes a number of subject areas, including government, economics, politics, and geography. The study of history also requires an advanced grasp of research methodology, an ability to analyze diverse perspectives, and the use of resources to form arguments. A student historian should be able to reflect on how the past influences the present. If you need some help with this, Varsity Tutors may assist you in finding history tutors near Tulsa.

Finding a good history tutor is not always easy. You want someone who is professional, experienced in history tutoring, and able to connect with you and help you improve your grades and complete your assignments. It's important to work with someone who is screened, effective, and reputable. The educational directors at Varsity Tutors are skilled at helping students in Tulsa connect with history tutors. Instead of trying to find the right tutor yourself, get some help from the tools and resources that we have at our disposal.

Great session! We talked about Pop Culture through Hip Hop. The client sent me his rubric for an upcoming assignment and we discussed ideas for the paper. The client did not understand the writing assignment, so we discussed it, I reworded it and resent it to him - the client understands the assignment.

History Tutoring review by Brian in Tulsa, OK
This was a very productive session, where the focus was primarily on the events of the Eisenhower administration. We discussed topics such as the beginning of the civil rights movement, American post-WWII prosperity, the end of the Korean War, US/Soviet Relations, French involvement in Vietnam, and even domestic medical and technological enhancements. We also discussed a couple of contemporary connections to this era (via current theatrical releases that deal with this era in history), medical use of the Polio virus, and Cuban/American relations. We also set up to meet up again on Monday and I will contact the student a couple days before to confirm the chapter of which she needs to study/go over.

We payed particular attention to the continuation of the Cold War shortly before and after the death of Stalin; the passage of the Civil Rights Act and its effect on American politics; the Voting Rights Act and parallels to contemporary situations; the close relationship between the Civil Rights movement and anti-Vietnam protests.

History Tutoring review by Jacob in Tulsa, OK
As an orientation meeting I began by going through a collection of sample questions with the student and using the remaining time to review the American Revolution. After working with him I'm confident he knows most of the material. He has difficulty recalling it, but knows more than he suspects. His greatest problem is lacking the vocabulary to understand the questions being asked of him. I intend to work with him to develop vocabulary and test-taking skills, then refresh his knowledge of US History. I'm quite confident he will be able to pass the test.
