How can a tutor assist you in conquering Geometry?

Varsity Tutors may help you connect with an independent tutor in Tulsa, OK, who may assist your child in understanding geometry. While not as complex as more advanced forms of mathematics, geometry confuses many children nonetheless. The class covers many topics. A tutor is an excellent choice because they may focus on the most difficult concepts and adapt their teaching method so your child begins to understand topics that were once elusive. They may, for example, explain area and circumference of circles, right triangles, and complementary angles. Geometry, while concentrating on shapes, may be hard to associate at first. A tutor may also relate the subject to real-world things such as architecture, engineering, and art. A more personalized approach enables your student to learn more quickly and understand concepts of a cumulative discipline before advancing to trigonometry and other math.

Your child's tutor may meet during the day or evening. A full set of classes and activities do not have to get in the way of attaining proficiency in mathematics. Weekend lessons are possible too. If your child's tutor may meet in school, that might be convenient, or they may travel to a local library or your home to prepare your student for class, or even their End-of-Instruction or Oklahoma Student Testing Program exam. Online sessions are possible as well, in which your child and their tutor meet face-to-face using our live learning platform. This saves travel time and maximizes availability of great tools for learning.

Geometry Tutoring review by Stephanie in Tulsa, OK
The student and I worked on chapter 5 section 1 over similarity and ratios. I also went over with him how to cross-multiply in order to solve for variables such as y and x. I challenged him to continue reviewing formulas and to write out post-its of key information as we move along throughout our sessions.

I helped the student review a practice test for a high school placement test. We went over all the problems in the test to discuss strategies to find the correct answer quickly. I assigned him to do the second practice test in the next few days and to try and apply the strategies we had discussed.

Geometry Tutoring review by Liny in Tulsa, OK
The student and I discussed more assessment questions. He seems more comfortable with the topics. He needs to read directions more carefully and scaffold what the question is asking him to do. He is more confident in his work than when we first started tutoring sessions. I gave him a formula sheet for him to study that is not given on the reference sheet for the assessment.

Geometry Tutoring review by Stacey in Tulsa, OK
The student and I reviewed for his upcoming geometry midterm. I brought outlines and many problem sets for similar triangles and other polygons. Last time, he struggled a bit with the concept of similar triangles, but he seems to have gotten better at it throughout the week. I did notice some minor mistakes along the way, but other than that, he was able to work through the problems without any difficulty. I feel that he needs a little encouragement along the way, especially when working on similar triangles proofs.

The student has a test coming up on Tuesday, so we looked through the entire chapter on quadrilaterals. We did problems from the chapter review and chapter test sections of his textbook. And we reviewed all the theorems. The student understands the concepts and is confident going into this test.
