If you've been considering formal GACE test prep to help you work toward your professional goals, Varsity Tutors can set you up with private GACE classes. GACE is an acronym for Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators, a series of standardized test required to earn teaching certification in the state of Georgia. Its content was designed by educators, assessment specialists, and other education preparation faculty to ensure that Georgia's teachers meet all federal and state-level standards. If you're ready to take your GACE prep to the next level, let us connect you with one-on-one GACE tutoring today!
The first part of GACE prep is understanding which exams you actually need to take. Some are mandatory for all candidates, while others are only taken to earn a particular specialization. The list below highlights all of the exams you may need to take:
The different GACE Assessments offered:
- Program Admission
- Content
- Certificate Upgrade
- Georgia Ethics
- Paraprofessional
Some of these assessments consist of multiple sections called "subtests." For instance, the table below breaks down the GACE Program Admission Exam:
Some exams are broken into subtests. For example, Program Admission:
Test I - Reading (200)
Test II - Mathematics (201)
Test III - Writing (202)
Combined Test I, II, and III (700)
One of the benefits of taking private GACE courses is the ability to concentrate on your unique areas of opportunity. For example, if you excel in mathematics but could more articulately express your ideas in an essay format, you might study for the Writing subtest more than the Mathematics one. You could spend GACE class time practicing how to outline your ideas so you don't forget any important details, or maybe you could take practice exams for a little experience managing the time allotted to you. Completing practice exams may also help you identify your academic strengths and any areas you might want to devote more attention to in your GACE test prep. In contrast, competing products often follow a set curriculum without regard for an individual student's needs.
A private GACE course can also be designed around your unique GACE test preparation needs. A visual learner might use visual aids in their GACE prep, while an auditory learner might get more out of a Q&A and discussion format so that they can hear the information instead. Either way, you are your instructor's sole responsibility during your GACE test prep. All of your work can receive immediate feedback, and you can ask for help as necessary.
In fact, some students find it easier to ask for assistance from private GACE tutors than a classroom teacher. Tutor and pupil often establish a strong personal rapport while working together, building a learning environment predicated on mutual trust and understanding that may be difficult to replicate in a more crowded setting.
We also try to make GACE prep as convenient as possible. All of your GACE preparation can take place on our mobile-friendly Live Learning Platform, so you don't need to worry about the logistics of meeting up with your instructor in person. We also try to match every student with an instructor who suits their scheduling needs to minimize any conflicts.
