Varsity Tutors can set you up with the Cleveland NCLEX prep course or tutor that will help you on your path to licensure. Registered nurse and practical nurse candidates need to pass the NCLEX in order to be licensed, and even though a Cleveland NCLEX prep course will cover much of the material that you learned as a student at Cleveland State University or Kent State University, any amount of review before taking the exam is helpful. Such a course can also help you prepare for the format of the exam, which can sometimes be confusing to those who aren't used to taking a computerized test.
What Material Will Be Covered by Cleveland NCLEX Prep?
The NCLEX, or National Council Licensure Examination - actually refers to two different tests. The NCLEX-RN is taken by those who wish to become licensed as registered nurses, and the NCLEX-PN is for practical nurse candidates. The two exams were developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. and are intended to test the entry-level nursing competence of all nursing candidates. The exams are very similar in that they are divided into four main categories: Safe and Effective Care Environment, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Psychosocial Integrity, and Physiological Integrity. There are also subcategories that differ depending on what exam you are taking. A Cleveland NCLEX preparation class or instruction from a private tutor can help you understand these categories and give you a better idea of what you can expect from your exam.
Another big part of any Cleveland NCLEX preparation is helping you become more familiar with the exam format. The NCLEX uses Computerized Adaptive Testing or CAT to administer the exam. This means that every time you answer a question, the computer re-estimates your ability based on how you answered the previous questions. It then chooses the next question that you should have a 50 percent chance of answering correctly. The goal here is to make sure the exam isn't too easy or too difficult; every question that is asked should be based on your own ability and knowledge. This can make preparation for the exam difficult for some people since the exam is a little different for everyone taking the test.
What are the Benefits of Each Type of Cleveland NCLEX Prep?
Varsity Tutors can set you up with two different types of Cleveland NCLEX Prep. Most candidates will choose one type over the other, but some have made great use of both types. The first type of NCLEX prep is an online preparation class. This class places you in a virtual classroom where you can chat with other students and your instructor and engage in group learning activities. This can be tremendously helpful for those who learn best in a collaborative environment, and you might even learn about concepts from other students that might have otherwise gone under your radar. You can also reach out to your instructor for some one-on-one time if you need any extra help. Since the class is entirely online, you can participate from home or anywhere else as long as you have a stable Internet connection. You won't have to worry about fighting traffic to make it to a physical classroom or worry about missing a class due to illness or some other conflict. New sections also open up regularly, so you should be able to easily find a class that fits comfortably into your schedule, although you will still have to adhere to a class schedule somewhat.
If you don't want to take a class with other students yet you still need to prepare for the NCLEX, we can also set you up with a Cleveland NCLEX tutor for private instruction. This kind of instruction will allow you to learn at your own pace and follow your own schedule. Your instructor can also tailor your lessons to focus on your strengths and help you understand any concepts that you've struggled with in the past. Like an NCLEX prep course, your private lessons will be online, so you will be able to chat with your instructor from the comfort of your own home as long as you have a good computer and Internet connection.
How Do I Get Started with Cleveland NCLEX Prep?
If you are ready to review for the NCLEX, Varsity Tutors can set you up with the Cleveland NCLEX prep class or private instruction that will best suit your learning style. For more information about how to get started, simply reach out to us. We will be happy to answer your questions and find the learning opportunities that work best for you.
