Anatomy Tutoring review by Betsy in Tulsa, OK
During this session we returned to concepts covered at the beginning of the semester to better prepare for the last six weeks and final exam. We covered moles, molar mass, Avogadro's number and any calculations involving this subjects. We also discussed other subjects that the student is struggling with (empirical formulas, Bohr's model, emission, and spectra) to work on during the next session. I left him with some extra practice to reinforce the concepts covered and also suggested starting to make flashcards containing important information that needs to be memorized.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Matthew in Tulsa, OK
The student and I went over practice problems involving % composition of solution, molarity, and solubility. She had the most difficulty understanding the difference between supersaturation, saturated, and undersaturated solutions. I suggested she try a real world experiment in her kitchen with table salt and water by dissolving the salt in the water and trying to emulate her textbook. She really grasped molarity calculations by the end of the session, and needed little input from me.

We reviewed homework problems 7.3, 7.18, 7.20, 7.25, and 7.26. These problems cover atmospheric dispersion under standard conditions including valleys and smokestack scenarios. It is important for the student to pay attention to key words in the problem setup including "overcast", "long way downwind", "equilibrium", and "steady state". These key words will help him to determine how to set up the equation and which formula to use.

I conducted a review of types of reactions and activation energy factors. I explained more in depth about how a catalyst works within a reaction. The student completed practice with chemical equations going from words to formulas and equations. In addition, we completed strategies and steps for understanding diatomic molecules, correct balancing techniques, and formula development with charge assessments. We also included math concepts with equations of a circle. I provided a template and description of the standard form of the equation and steps using completing the square techniques, to find the radius and the center of designated equation or circle diagram.
