Tutoring review by Jeong Hwa Emily in Superior, CO
The student and I worked on her review packet for math class. We covered simplifying expressions, distributive property, and FOIL. She understands the rules underlying simplifying expressions. However, she made a few mistakes while combining like terms and carrying over exponents. We practiced more with additional handouts I brought. I also left some problems for her to do on her own before the test.

Tutoring review by Natalya in Superior, CO
The student told me the good news: his last test grade brought his grade average up. He had a double-sided worksheet for homework, on which he had to fill out values in a table and graph functions. There were two functions for the comparison, one was linear, and the other was exponential. After the homework, he completed a worksheet on simplifying radicals, which I brought for him before. We also practiced more on simplifying expressions with negative exponents. Good job! Keep working hard!

Tutoring review by Abbi in Superior, CO
We reviewed all the strategies for each section. Then, the student did practice questions from most of the sections to get additional practice. We reviewed the answers, and I gave her handouts with additional strategies and formulas to memorize for the math section. Then, I recommended that she review the vocabulary and look up additional review for vocabulary.

Tutoring review by Erin in Superior, CO
The student is still making good progress in recognizing the need to plan and organize her classes to make sure she finishes everything. We focused on how to read for comprehension so she can remember details for quizzes (which seems to be her biggest issue at the moment), and I suggested she try to take notes, highlight, and compare the notes to online study guides. She assured me she has a handle on the work in all her other classes, and I believe she does, but I reminded her the key is to remain ahead of work, to stay on top of everything and avoid having to backtrack in any way.

Tutoring review by Corbin in Superior, CO
The student and I worked on review for her upcoming AP Biology semester final. She had done a thorough job of covering most of the material, so we were able to focus on what she felt least sure about, which was cellular respiration and biochemistry. We spent most of the session discussing the characteristics of the different types of macromolecules, with a special emphasis on level of protein structure and the emergent properties that each contributes to the protein. We went over cellular respiration, and I helped her key in on some salient aspects since there is a deluge of information about cellular respiration taught in the course. She worked through some sample problems skillfully. She reported that she got an "A" on both of her last tests, which is fantastic. I am confident in her ability to work through the complicated material required in the course.
