Programs that are available throughout the year help students learn more about their hometown. One-time temporary exhibits often come in to give the museum some variety and keep the community interested and learning. Several permanent collections are also featured. An extensive military exhibit has uniforms and other artifacts of interest to many people, while the farm life area teaches what it was like to live in the area hundreds of years ago. Today we covered the deficiencies from the student's Algebra 1 diagnostic test. We covered systems of equations, equations with one variable, literal equations, and then inequalities with one variable, and systems of inequalities of one variable. The student has made a great progress in Algebra 1. The second part was about statistics and probability. We calculated mean, median, defined quartiles and interquartile range, and mode. We solved several problems including means, and various calculations that required formula for the mean. The student has shown great improvement in his understanding of statistics.

Tutoring review by Rina in Stanley, NC
Today we reviewed adjective adverb, pronoun case, subject verb agreement, and learned independent and dependent clauses and ambiguous pronouns. For quizzes, he got a 9/12 for subject verb agreement, 17/18 for adjective vs adverb, and 7/8 for pronoun case. I am hoping that going through the structure of these different rules encourages him to approach grammar analytically rather than basing his answers on instinct.

Tutoring review by Jennifer in Stanley, NC
Today, we began by reviewing journal entry 10. We reviewed vocabulary words. The student finished her math homework. She also has a couple of tests to study for this week, and we began making study guides. Tomorrow should be more or less a studying day without too much homework. Overall, I think that the schedule we stuck to this week for homework went much better than last week's. We'll have to keep with this and make little improvements where we can.

The student has a test next week. We were able to go over materials that would be covered on the test. Our review of the last few weeks is now up to date with the class material. We also discussed good studying habits. He did well on log-exponential conversions, and we reviewed finding a common denominator.

We went over six problems. The first two involved using the Jacobian to transform a coordinate space and use this transformation to evaluate a double integral. The next three problems had us evaluate the line integral of a scalar function with arc length. The final problem involved computing a line integral of a curve through a vector field.
