Santa Fe Springs Tutoring FAQ

Dixon, CA, is a city located 23 miles west of Sacramento. The town has a population of about 18,400. Dixon residents broke the world record for the largest, temporary corn/crop maze by creating a maze over 60 acres large.

Dixon High School serves the city as a member of the Dixon Unified School District. There is a lot of competition within the school district, due to the high density of students within the Sacramento area. Professional in-person or online tutoring in Dixon is a great way to try to get ahead in your class or test prep. It can be difficult to get into top ranked colleges such as the University of California Davis. The school ranked 41st in the nation's top schools. Are you looking for private instruction to help you get into your top college? Online or in-home test prep tutoring in Dixon, CA, is available to help you work towards your goals. To have a chance at well ranked colleges, further your education through private instruction. Tutors in Dixon look forward to tutoring you for your course or test prep, either in-home or online.

With Sacramento so nearby, there is a lot to do in the area. However, you won't have to travel too far from Dixon to find attractions. Cool Patch Pumpkins is the perfect option for fall fun. The seasonal attraction holds multiple world records for the largest corn/crop maze in America. The maze size varies each year, but you can be assured it will be one of the largest you have ever gotten lost in. The farm has everything you could want for some fall fun, including tractor pulled hay rides, scarecrow contests, and Corn Bath quicksand pits. You'll even be able to see the historic site, the Milk Farm Sign. Originally part of a restaurant which operated in the 1920s, the whimsical sign has become a local attraction.

For more outdoors fun, visit the Jepson Prairie Reserve. The reserve is an island with one of the last remaining vernal-pool habitats, a local ecosystem, which is only found in the western United States and a limited number of locations around the world. The reserve serves as a protector for several local species that have had a severe drop in their population. These species include delta green ground beetle, Solano grass, and native bunchgrass. Walk along the trails of the island to learn about the native species and gain an appreciation of the area's fading plant life.

Exploring the local flora and fauna can be exciting, but you'll want to stay on top of your studies as well. A Dixon, CA, tutor might help you realize success in all of your academic endeavors.

The student and I covered more free response questions from his given AP practice tests. He did very well with the material, and seems well prepared for his final. We went over a variety of problems covering most all major concepts found in calculus. His final, which he will take at the end of next week, will be the final note of progress.

Today's session we spent going over the worksheet that I gave the student at the end of our previous session. I could see that the interweaving of the concepts involved in fractions were still perplexing her so we reviewed the relationship between each of the concepts, reviewed the steps needed to reach each answer, and how each concept could be applied in real life (particularly for the decimal and percentage part). The idea and the necessity of a common denominator needed to be broken down again so we went over factors and multiples and when a common denominator was needed. We also went over the concept of reducing fractions and practiced a few problems. The student persevered as always and was able to get through several challenging and multi-part questions!

The student and I started by reading a new short story, The Lumber Room by Saki, for his online English class. He then successfully answered homework questions about the story's sequence, examples of irony, and point of view. We then went over lessons in his Geography course that covered the climate of Europe, and finally, we practiced proportions and similar figures in algebra. He did very well with all of the material that we covered today.
