Tutoring review by Alan in Arden Hills, MN
The student and I finished going over his math homework, and I am optimistic about his math score on the ACT. I have taught him all there is to know regarding more difficult mathematical concepts, and I have made him practice enough to the point where he makes minimal simple mistakes. We proceeded to review ACT English, and I am similarly confident that he will score well, although he does miss questions on topics I have lectured. He will need to review his notes to make sure he scores well. I then proceeded to teach him much more advanced writing concepts as well as explaining the new format of ACT writing, and I believe that he is prepared. He knows how to structure and organize an argument, how to implement advanced vocabulary and how to include deeper elements that add sophistication to his writing. I assigned some ACT English for homework, and I look forward to continuing review with him.

The student appeared to grasp the concepts really well. The student's attitude was motivated. We went over the basic concept and what it really means to use the formulas. I also sent some practice problems over email.

The student has quite a few assignments, tests, and quizzes coming up. We spent our time working on his algebra homework and completing his test corrections from his previous test. We also began working on his biology processing assignment. After he completes the processing assignment, he will have some prof. comm. homework to complete, then just studying left to do for the week.

Tutoring review by Stephanie in Arden Hills, MN
The student had a homework assignment that she wanted to work on. She is learning about altitudes, and using the altitude to find the length of the sides of the triangle. Her homework was quite long and it took most of the session. She was a little bit confused about how to set up the proportions with the altitude and the sides of the triangle. We did a lot bit of extra practice with that, and I gave her some general guidelines to follow to help her set up the ratio. At the end of the session we went over the list of topics that are going to be on her midterm, and I gave her some practice material so she can begin to review for it.
