Retired American engineer and college math adjunct professor who has been tutoring students in math from high school, college and adult learners for over 10 years. I'm patient. Positive. Supportive. I believe everyone can do math. I specialize in helping students feel better about themselves and their math skills. I will identify key gaps and concepts that are holding students back. In most cases, these gaps were missed concepts in earlier math classes. We will work problems until students have a working knowledge of the key concepts and are successful in getting correct answers. I work hard to ensure each student not only achieves their academic goals but gains confidence in their mathematical abilities. Whether you're seeking support for homeschooling or preparing for a crucial exam, my commitment to nurturing a love for learning and driving tangible results sets me apart.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education. I am also a graduate of the University of Phoenix, where I received my Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Upon graduating, I embarked on an educational journey that has allowed me teach a wide variety of subjects over the past 22 years. I have tutored numerous students in the fields of Social Studies, English-Language Arts, and in SAT test preparation sessions, for the reading component of the exam. I have always enjoyed working with my students in both a traditional classroom, and online setting, and I have always strived to incorporate elements of my students' personal likes and hobbies into the elements of my instructional design, to help make learning more engaging and efficient. I am a firm believer in the power of education, as I see it as a means for helping us shape our future in an effort to make our society better. I coached varsity football for 26 years, and still coach Freshman girls basketball, and in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, working out, and watching sports.
I'm am in love with massage therapy! I've been practicing for over 25 years and have worked in some amazing places. Part of my journey was working peak seasons.I worked a few months at the beach and then a few months at the ski slopes or wherever else they needed a short-term, massage therapist.I've traveled as far west as Snowbird, UT, as far east as Myrtle Beach, SC, and as far south as Grand Cayman Island.I share this with you to encourage you that the sky is the limit! This career is rewarding on so many different levels. It's not just the places but more the people I've met and how I was able to help them.I started as an x-ray technician in an ER and transitioned into an x-ray tech for several chiropractors. As I worked for one particular chiropractor that was the local hockey team doctor, he started showing me how to "work" (massage) the hamstrings or the calves; whatever the patient needed at the time. I was clueless! (Keep in mind this was BEFORE most state licensing started.)I grew to love the process and outcome from doing the few massage techniques. That inspired me to pack up my car (I was in NC at the time) and move to the top massage school in the nation at that time, Utah College of Massage Therapy. I've loved this journey from the beginning!Over the years, I've had opportunities to become a lead therapist and train incoming team members, I've taught as a guest speaker at some schools of massage therapy and have been invited to multiple events to share how massage can be a great career. The MBLEX is a beast, I will not lie, but with some practice and focus, this will be just another chapter in your new journey. Let's get started!!
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science, a Birth through Kindergarten teacher's license, and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education, so that they can make a positive contribution to our world. I believe every child is capable of learning, regardless of their developmental levels or disabilities.
I'm graduating next year with my master's degree in addiction counseling. I have obtained my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and have experience tutoring English (ESL) in an Asian country (Japan) where Japanese children want to learn English. I enjoyed teaching or tutoring children who want to learn and I like to help them in order to succeed. I believed that education is very important for everyone to be successful.
