You can succeed! and I love to help you succeed! I genuinely care for my students, so I train them to be better than who I am. I am currently a Ph.D. Student in Mathematics. I have a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a prior work experience as Software Engineer. My philosophy of teaching stems from my favorite quote by Thomas Carruthers: "A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary". I strive to make a student learn the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in STEM fields especially in Mathematics. I love been there patiently for a student until She/He has a rock solid understanding of the concept. Sometime teaching is like construction! Before we build, one must tear down unnecessary remnants and that's exactly what I do in a very graceful way. I detect any gaps in a student's conceptual understanding and to point out certain possible pitfalls in their thinking pattern that might hinder them from solving a problem of completely different nature and difficulty.I can help with all Math, Physics and Computer Science courses, including AP and college level courses. Also I can teach how to tackle math and physics problems from competitive exams (such as SAT, GRE, GMAT) with high speed and accuracy.Outside of academics, I love playing soccer, traveling and hiking. I also enjoy playing piano and guitar.

I was born in Athens, GA and have lived here much of my life. I have always had an interest in music from an early age. After high school I worked as a touring musician and studio session musician (drums, hand percussion, keyboards, and vocals). It was my session experience that got me interested in audio engineering. I read everything I could find on the subject, started buying gear, practiced on myself and my friends, and eventually, in 1998, founded The Odyssey Studio where I work now. My tutoring focus is on recording equipment and recording techniques. I am also a mix engineer, and I can Q&A on mix techniques, plug-ins, etc. My teaching modules come directly from a studio intern teaching course I've developed over the years. I have continued to work with a wide variety of local, national, and international music clients since 1998. PLEASE NOTE: I work almost exclusively in Digital Performer. While my focus for these tutorials is on the hardware and technique side of audio engineering, I can talk about DAWs in general as they all essentially do the same basic things. However, I cannot provide specific instruction on DAWs other than Digital Performer.

Simply put, I'm someone who loves teaching English and helping students improve their Verbal test scores. I've got over 5 years of experience now as a full-time professional tutor, and I've worked with students from a variety of cultures and academic backgrounds, including the US, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico. I've been lucky enough to teach and travel in all those countries as well, having lived in Shanghai for 3 years and going on 2 in Mexico City now. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when I can take a passage or sentence structure or concept that seems like complete gibberish at first to my students and have them explain the concept back to me by the end of class. That flash of insight, that ohhh I get it! moment is why I continue to seek out new students who want to learn and improve so that I can share my expertise and knowledge of these exams with them. Having graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in English and a BS in Psychology, I'm naturally curious about what makes us tick and how we find ways to relate to one another, even with seemingly insurmountable barriers between us. Living abroad, exploring new places, and soaking in new cultures have been my top priorities so far in my post-graduate life. I'm also an avid learner in my spare time and an unabashed Jeopardy nerd who is always willing to fall down a Wikipedia hole if a topic strikes my interest.

I am currently a student at the University of Georgia majoring in Finance and Chemistry. I enjoy tutoring students and helping them to clarify any confusion they have. A tutor should not only be there to help students faced with a difficult problem or concept, but a good tutor should encourage and motivate students to overcome obstacles and help students stay on track. When tutoring students, I always try to teach not just the answer but the method to get the answer. I believe that the method of obtaining the answer is more important than the answer itself.Growing up, I was tutored through middle school in Math and English. I know the importance of having a strong tutor. I have experience as a teacher as part of the ADVENT organization where I spent three summers on mission trips to Taiwan teaching local students. I enjoy playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and eating different foods.

I am currently in my last semester of pursuing a dual degree in Math and Math Education at the University of Georgia. My career goal is to become a secondary math teacher. I have been passionate about mathematics and teaching others math for as long as I could remember. Unlike the popular opinion, I see math as a multidimensional subject rather than black-and-white. I believe a problem, even the ones with one correct answer, can be approached in multiple ways. Hence, all students can become good math students if they are given the opportunity to learn math tailored to their interests and learning styles, which is why differentiated instruction is important of my instruction. In addition to my academic focus, I enjoy involving myself in projects where I can express my creativity like painting, making music, and dancing. I am passionate about the Christian ministry. I have been working with a lot of youths (high school and college age) as part of my leadership role with UGA's Christian ministry and at my home church; this was one big factor that pushed me into my calling of becoming a teacher.

I have a passion for helping students succeed in life. This passion led to me volunteering my time as a tutor during my undergraduate studies. I helped local high school students prepare for the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) by providing them with study methods and offering assistance in math, science, and language arts. My students had a 100% pass rate for the GHSGT and were able to graduate from high school. I also helped students prepare for the ACT and SAT.My assistance is not limited to upper level students. I participated in a program called project FOCUS (Fostering Our Children's Understanding in Science); through this program I taught students in grades K-5 science. I developed lesson plans and projects that helped the students gain interest in science, as well as learn and understand science. I have also tutored students in math, reading, and language arts. When tutoring students, my goal is to understand the level the students are currently at, and how best to help them advance to higher levels. My lesson plans usually consist of worksheets and projects that focus on the area that is challenging for the students. I also sometimes allow the students to work independently in order to gauge their progress. I feel that this method provides confidence in their ability to complete the assignment.I will be as flexible as possible. I also welcome feedback and constructive criticism as I am always willing to improve my skills. I look forward to hearing from you and helping with your studies.
