Hello! I'm Kathryn, a current high school math teacher in the greater Atlanta area. I graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. I am about to start my 3rd year of teaching, and I love it. I have worked with students on the new Georgia math curriculum on levels from 8th grade to 11th grade. Math has been something I have enjoyed since I learned my times tables. My love for logic and puzzles has carried with me for many years, and my passion is to help students make math click. The joy that comes when a student is successful is incomparable to anything I have yet to experience.Through my experience, I have found that learning about a student and getting to know them and how they work is extremely important to their success. The beauty of math is there are multiple ways to solve a problem. This allows me, as a tutor and teacher, to enable students to discover methods that work best for them. In the end, I am not only teaching the math skills to boost the grade or the understanding, but I am also teaching problem solving skills that will last a lifetime. My enthusiasm and ability to relate to students is tremendously helpful when tutoring, and I can't wait to help you!

I recently graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in English. During my studies there I tutored at-risk teens at a nearby high school, focusing not only on the academic aspect but on cultivating mutual respect with the students as well. The experience I gained from this position has shown me the underlying tenacity in young men and women to learn if the curriculum is tailored to their interests or presented with a novel perspective.Additionally, my ESL certification has granted me further opportunities to hone my teaching skills and techniques. I enjoy teaching a wide variety of subjects, but I gravitate towards English, Essay Writing, and Literature. After graduation I moved to Colorado to experience itsvivacious geography, culture, and city. When I am not working, I can often be found outside soaking up the Colorado sun with my dog Syd.
I am an Early Childhood and Special Education certified educator with ten years of experience in both elementary and post-secondary education. My experience is diversified. I have worked both in urban and suburban settings, public and charter schools, and with students ranging in ability from gifted to special needs. I am committed to maintaining a thorough knowledge of instructional standards, practices, and methodologies for the education of children. My passion is helping students. I appreciate the way that tutoring allows a one-on-one connection and the ability to track success that is not always possible in a classroom setting. In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking and spending time with my family.
I offer focused tutoring to prepare for standardized or in-class exams.I received my MD from the University of Maryland in 2011. Toward the end of medical school I became involved in helping premedical students prepare for the MCAT exam (I scored 98th percentile on this exam in 2007 and have since obtained higher scores on diagnostics). After medical school I completed my internship at Northwestern University and then left the clinical setting to join an MCAT content development company I founded in 2011. Over the past year, I have coached several students on MCAT preparation. I find these relationships valuable because they help me learn students learn, which helps me to write higher-yield MCAT-style questions. The MCAT contains General Chemistry/ Physics, Verbal Reasoning, and Biology/ Organic Chemistry/ Physiology/ Genetics/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry sections, and I feel comfortable tutoring in all these areas. The approach I will help you to implement has 3 parts: (1) Where am I now? (2) Where to I want to go? (3) How am I going to get there? To answer the first question, we'll need your most recent diagnostic test scores and a full summary of your classes/ coursework so far. The second question will be determined by you. The third question I will help you to figure out based on the time you have available to prepare. If necessary, we'll choose additional diagnostics to find your weaknesses. Then, we'll select content materials and practice problems (broken down by week) to target your weaknesses specifically.I look forward to working with you!

Additionally I have received several awards for my performance in my math classes at UGA.I began tutoring in high school, where I tutored middle and high school students in math and German. Since starting with varsity tutors, I have mainly tutored math, especially AP Calculus, but have also worked with students on German and SAT prep. I am a firm believer in making sure that all students I tutor are capable of completing similar work without my help later. I look forward to working with you to realize your academic goals!
I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia, double majoring in History and Philosophy with a minor in Latin. Learning is most effective when it's engaging, personalized, and built on confidence. As a tutor, I focus on making complex concepts more approachable and helping students develop problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom. Currently pursuing a degree in Finance and Economics, I have experience tutoring middle and high school students in math, reading, and standardized test preparation, including the SAT, which I achieved a score of 1530. I particularly enjoy tutoring math because of the logical thinking and real-world applications it fosters. My approach adapts to each student's learning style, ensuring lessons are clear, interactive, and tailored to their needs. I believe that success comes not just from memorization but from truly understanding the "why" behind each concept. Beyond tutoring, I have experience in investment analysis and enjoy exploring the intersection of finance, strategy, and sports. In my free time, I love traveling, analyzing business trends, and staying active. My goal is to help students build confidence, improve their academic performance, and develop a lasting appreciation for learning.
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia and currently in my first year at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. I received my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion, with an emphasis in Behavioral Medicine. I have always been passionate about tutoring and offering academic help to a wide variety of students and ages since high school. I have spent time working with elementary-age students on reading and math as well as college-age students on chemistry and biology. My favorite subject to teach is Biology as this is my own area of expertise being a current medical student. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking and yoga. I believe in patience and being kind to yourself while learning, especially in times of great stress and frustration. I also like to tell my students that the best way to know you have mastered a concept is if you can teach it to me! Therefore, I emphasize the following philosophy for all my students: "Learn it. Practice it. Teach it."
Buenos das! I am a native of Nashville, TN, and I received my B.A. in Spanish at Belmont University. I spent my junior year studying abroad in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, which was one of the greatest cultural and linguistic experiences of my life! I have been teaching Spanish since 2014, and I am currently working on my Masters in World Language Education at UGA.I have a great deal of passion for the nuances of the Spanish language, and I love to share it with my students. Masculine/feminine agreement, verb conjugations, the subjunctive tense - these can be tricky concepts to grasp, but my philosophy is that, at the end of the day, it is all about communication. When I'm not teaching, I love cooking, hiking, kayaking, reading, singing, playing my ukulele, and, of course, continuing to gather more knowledge about the Spanish language and cultures.
Hey there! A little bit about me - I'm a student at the University of Georgia, and I'm majoring in Biology and sociology. I've tutored everybody from elementary school students in Language Arts to college students in calculus. In my free time, I'm down to toss a frisbee with you or help you out on that project that you don't know where to start on. Just reach out, I'm happy to help!
I believe every student can learn and do all in my power to help each student achieve success. I have more than 30 years of teaching experience at grade levels from 6th through graduate school.
I am currently a professional school counselor. I am also a certified teacher for grades K-5 and I have experience as an Early Intervention Program teacher for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade. My favorite subject is Math- and I have tutored struggling middle and high school students and helped them meet standards that they were previously failing. I am also interested in helping students enjoy reading and discussing what they have read. I believe that the key to learning is making the material accessible and real to a student, so I do my best to explain at the student's level and relate the subject to the student's interests.
