Hello, my name is Casey and I am a wildlife biologist by trade. Until recently, I had been working internationally as a wildlife biologist with a nonprofit organization, contracted through U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services on the island of Rota, in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. On this island I discovered a passion for outreach and education through guest lectures at the high school located on the island. So, when I returned to Texas I decided to go back to school for a masters in secondary education with a teaching certificate. I am currently between semesters and working towards my goal of being able to teach and share my passion for wildlife, biology, and environmental sciences. I am a graduate of Tarleton State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Early Childhood Education and a certification to teach all subjects PK-6th grade. Since graduation, I have been teaching in a small Title I school in rural Texas. While I have mainly focused my teaching career on Reading instruction, I am also passionate about Science and Physical Activity. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, I find that we are most successful when we can make our prep fun! I am a firm believer that education should be fun, and I try to impart this to all of my students.
